I have no idea what was happening with Cronan but at least he looked less upset than he did originally.  Silver eyes narrowed, panting, unsteady—he’d looked more animal than man and the rage was coming off of him waves.  Palpable.  And then just as suddenly, frustration.  He was so upset and I’d felt myself worry over him.     I wanted to know what was hurting him.     The way he was acting, distressed like that, was out of character.     Always calm and stoic, so controlled—it was hard to believe the man humming with his forehead resting against my leg was the same Cronan from the cell full of goat eaters.  The way he vibrated against my fingers with that deep, soothing noise made me think of a cat’s purr.     *I am not a cat.*     Go figure he’d take that poorly.  “Don’t you want to
