It was a note left by Pedro, the man who Peter had insisted was the one who had kidnapped Ezra. The note was written in shabby hurried handwriting, as if he knew they would doubt Pedro and come all the way to his hideout.
Pedro was either too smart or he just had the upper hand.
But even if Axel tried to convince himself to be happy about the lead he had gotten, he couldn't quite satisfy himself. Not just about Ezra, he couldn't be sure about Pedro. He was too dejected. The whole thing just wasn't sitting right with him.
