Alex pushed the shewolf off him, and laid on his back, staring blankly at the ceiling. He had been feeling empty of late, and nothing he had tried, or anyone, for that matter, was fulfilling him. Alex looked over at the shewolf lying peacefully next to him. He had been spending time with Amy for the last few months, but was growing tired of her. He saw the way that she walked around, and speaking to other pack members. He had met her in the city, and had been attracted to her. She was an Alpha's daughter and came from a prominent pack that subscribed to the traditional ways of pack life. Alex knew this, and had hoped that with time, she learn to accept and contribute to what they were trying to achieve here. As time went on though, he noticed that Amy started to act like she was more important than other members of the pack, speaking down to them, 'reminding' them of who she was dating and to speak to her with the proper respect. Alex knew that his sister Ash didn't like Amy; Ash seemed to make herself scarce whenever Amy stayed over, which appeared to be more often lately. Alex never remembers inviting her to stay, but it always seemed that it was 'too late' for her to leave. Amy started to stretch, and looked over at Alex, smiling coyly. "Good Morning Alpha" she said, leaning forward, brushing her hand across his chest. Alex grabbed her wrist, preventing her hand from traveling any further south. "Amy, we need to talk" Alex started. "Of course my Alpha" she smiled, and started to lazily trace patterns across his chest. Alex groaned, feeling himself stiffen. He let go of her hand, and pushed himself away from her, sitting up. 'Don't call me that, I'm not the Alpha' he growled. Amy sat up too, letting the sheet fall into her lap, exposing her br*asts, moving closer to him. "Well, no, not yet your not. But you will be babe! Didnt you say that youre nearly ready to submit the application to the council? I've told dad to speak to Elder Roy about your situation, so you guys have someone on your side on the council, make it easier for you." Alex sighed, rubbing his hands over his face. "I wish you hadn't done that". Amy shrugged, and pecked him on the cheek. 'Anything for you babe. Speaking of anything.." Amy's hand slowly made its way down his chest again, reaching for his manhood. Alex groaned. This was not how he wanted this to go. Unfortunately, Amy took this as a sign to continue and placed herself on his lap, straddling him. Leaning forward, Alex felt as her lips brushed against his. He cursed, feeling himself harden as her n*pples pressed against his chest. While he was still thinking, he grabbed her shoulders, pushing her down onto the bed and effectively pinning her. Amy smiled up at him, arching her back so that his length brushed up against her. Alex shifted so that he was kneeling over her, and they were no longer touching. "Amy, please, wait, I need to talk to you". He watched as she pouted. 'What's wrong baby?". Alex took a deep breath. "Amy, this isn't working" he paused, waiting for her reaction. She looked startled for a moment, before a look of understanding crossed her face. "Its not a problem baby, I can help you." She wiggled underneath him suggestively. 'Let me go and I'll get it working no worries at all. I know you like it when you can hold my hips and work me from behind, like the animals we truly are' She winked at him, making Alex blush. "No Amy, I mean us. We aren't working. I don't think this is the right fit for me. Both of our mates are out there somewhere, and as much as Ive enjoyed myself with you, I feel I need to concentrate on finding my mate. There is something missing." He tried to explain to her gently, but as he watched the emotions cross her face, he knew this wasn't going to end well. 'I can complete you, if you let me. We can choose each other. We are a great team, don't do this. We really should of marked each other the last full moon, then you wouldn't be feeling this way." Amy spoke matter of factly, but he could feel her pulse quickened in her wrist, and knew she was panicing. He knew that Amy was only with him, desperate to become Luna, and here was the proof. He shook his head. 'No Amy, you know we are not meant for each other, and it would be foolish to disrespect the Mood Goddess that way and not even attempt to find out mates." Alex eyed her warily as her face continued to rapidly change. She appeared to settle on anger, because suddenly Amy kneed him. Hard. "Is that all I've been to you, a bed warmer?" Amy's voice became more shrill as she spoke, getting up off the bed, searching for her clothes. "We could be so much more, I would be great for you, and this pack!" She yelled, turning toward him after locating her blouse. Alex just watched her, face impassive. Sensing the precariousness of the situation, her comments spoke to her desperation. "Think about this a bit for a minute. You guys NEED me, you need my supports and connections." Alex continued to watch her. "No, we don't Amy. We have built this pack back up from nothing. Our hard work speaks for itself. We don't need you, or anyone that thinks the are greater than the pack. Our pack needs people that are team players, and I just don't think you're ready to be seen as equals with all pack members." Alex shrugged. Im sorry, but the pack must come first". Alex saw the flash of anger in Amy's eyes. 'Its always about the pack, you always put the pack first! But your pack is weak, nothing compared to my father's pack. You and your pack are nothing, Alexander Pearce! Nothing!" With that, Alex watched as she stormed out of his room, slamming the door. Alex sighed, lying back down on his bed. Though he immediately felt that this was the right decision, he was still frustrated by this feeling of emptiness that he couldn't shake.
