Mica’s P.O.V.
When Madam Ara told me she needed me to train someone I initially declined the offer thinking it was just another bored council member’s child, but she made it very clear that this person is of dire importance to the kingdom and specifically me. Although I couldn’t understand how an unknown person could be important to me I agreed for the sake of the kingdom.
If anyone could help restore Anudore to its former glory then I couldn’t refuse as my duty is to protect this kingdom with my life. When I arrived at Madam Ara’s cave she explained that the person I’m to train is the heir to the throne. Not able to connect the dots of how the heir was important to me I quietly listened to her instructions; some time later I felt a bolt of electricity charge my heart.
Before a minute ago, my heart was frozen; the fact that it started beating meant I’m in proximity to my soul. A century ago, I came in proximity to my mate but couldn’t find her in time causing my heart to freeze. I am older than almost everyone in Anudore despite my youthful appearance. I had long given up hope on ever feeling anything again until now.
When I looked around I saw the most breathtaking creature I had ever seen in my life coming up to me. Before I had a chance to say anything Madam Ara introduced her as Tyde, the loveliest name I’ve ever heard then added that she was the queen of Anudore.
I grew up on tales of the royal bloodline and their extraordinary powers and beauty. King Fynn was so powerful he ranked high enough to marry our guardian dragon Kianda. Whom I was lucky enough to see before the monarchs disappeared. In her relaxed state she was breathtaking with hair as White as the moon and eyes as green as emerald. Though they resembled, Tyde out shined her; but she didn’t give me a second thought.
When the council told her what test she needed to do to prove herself, I was furious. How dare they instruct the queen? What right do they think they have to talk down to her? I was about to destroy them all when I heard her say we should check the archive for clues, which immediately calmed me.
Tyde and I found out some interesting things about King Atlas but nothing as strange as his poetry skills, when I voiced my opinion Tyde immediately suggested we visit the “battleground of the damned” which she calls the “last battleground”. We got there and ended up a dark pit searching for the spear of Osirin when something monstrous attacked up.
We escaped into a brightly illuminated room when the monster grabbed me and pulled me back into the darkness. The panic I saw on Tyde’s face made me so angry I lost it and went into warrior mode ripping whatever the monster was to shreds. I spent a century perfecting all kinds of magic and fighting techniques to be taken out easily.
After I realized I there was nothing left to dismember I turned around to see Tyde’s glowing figure looking t me in shock with a hint of horror in her eyes. I couldn’t have my queen afraid of me, so I tried to reassure her that I would never harm her I was just carried away.
When she finally spoke she told me she found more of the writings we saw earlier and I should take a look.
Coralia’s P.O.V.
“Can you believe they had the nerve to forbid us from helping Tyde?” I asked
“I am not happy about it either Cora, but it is the law. We can’t interfere as members and family of the council.” Sym complained.
“What about that guy Mica, do we know anything about him other than the fact that he is dangerous and very old?” I asked
“I know as much as you do, but I trust him with her.” Sym said
“You trust the freak we know nothing about with our queen and friend, how does that make any sense to you?” I asked
“I trust him because Madam Ara trusts him. She would never put Tyde in any dangerous situation. In fact him being the one helping her makes me relax, knowing nothing can get close to them with his skills.” Sym said
“Well, looking at it that way makes me feel a little better about it. I just don’t trust him because of the way he was looking at her when they were first introduced.” I complained
“What do you mean?” Sym asked
“He was looking at her like a starving dolphin that just found a quill.” I sneered.
“I’m sure it’s nothing serious, he was probably excited to meet someone who doesn’t look at him like a freak.” Sym said convincingly.
I’m not so sure about that, but he seems confident about it, so I’ll let it go for now. I just hope she comes back with that cursed spear. With that out of the way she can start worrying about how to free us from that psychopath who has his ghouls roaming around like they own the place. I also want dad to come back home.
Dad and the warriors under his command all took a stand against Leviathan. Many lost their lives while the others were imprisoned, my dad being one of them. Since then, he sent more ghouls to patrol our city. Since then no one has been brave enough to try it again, so we’ve been hopeless until Tyde came.
We’ve had to keep her identity a secret from everyone except the council to keep the ghouls from coming after her, but I still feel like someone has been watching us and now that I think about it I’m much more comfortable knowing Mica came back, and he is with her. Since Queen Kianda he has been the closest thing to powerful that we’ve had. He just never cared enough to try to protect us, at least not until Tyde.
