We left Sym’s home and swam for what felt like hours before arriving at the entrance of a cave, which made me a bit uneasy considering what happened the last time I was in a cave, but I was already in this situation and needed to know why, so I proceeded to enter. Once we were inside I was speechless; this is not what I expected to see. I thought I’d find an old creepy place but instead, I was pleasantly surprised.
The deeper we went the more beautiful it became. It was like we were inside a castle, with grand halls and beautiful architecture that seemed to surpass any I’ve seen before; there were carvings on some walls resembling portraits and others just art but all in all this place was beautiful.
After swimming around for roughly five minutes we came to a stop at the entrance to a well-lit room filled with glowing corals and marine plants. The elderly woman inside looked up and signalled for us to enter. Coralia and Sym both made themselves comfortable as the woman who introduced herself to me as Madam Ara told me to lie down on the stone table at the centre of the room, so she could read me.
I followed her instructions as she gathered a few items. She came back and laid the items around then told me to clear my mind of all thoughts and just relax, then she proceeded to chant something I couldn’t understand I then started to feel the room getting smaller and before I knew it I had front row seats to the movie of my life.
I was back in my old room, in the house I grew up in. In a bassinet I saw myself as a baby sleeping; not long after I heard my father and a woman arguing about time and the safety of a kingdom called Anudore. At first, it was confusing hearing them talk about a protector, but then they called my name.
“Fynn it’s her destiny to save them as their princess and heir to the throne.” said the woman.
“I know it is but who says I can’t take her place and give her a chance to live a peaceful life?” said Fynn.
“You are their ruler and without you, they will be lost, which will only make things harder for her. As her father, I understand your need to protect her but as a ruler, you need to protect your people and let me do this for us.” She replied.
“Kianda I can’t let you do this. She needs her mother and being the guardian who is better qualified to train her for what is to come?” said Fynn.
“I am doing what is best for her Fynn, I am stronger than you are which means I am the only one who can keep him at bay long enough for her to grow stronger. We can create a barrier somewhere no one will think to look for her and when the time is right you can take it down.” said Kianda.
As soon as the realization hit me I was sucked back to reality. Madam Ara was looking down on me with a blank look on her face while Coralia and Sym both had millions of questions ready to throw at me. All could manage to mutter was “How?”
Madam Ara gave me a herb and told me to eat it and it’ll help to calm my nerves. After a few minutes of gazing at nothing I heard her ask me to tell her in details what I saw. I cleared my throat and proceeded to give her an accurate description of what I saw when I was done she got up and left the room. She came back with a scroll from the archive and spread it out on the table I was just laying on.
“This is the family tree of the royal family. Their reign ended one hundred years ago when Leviathan came with his cruelty and destruction. Their last ruler was Prince Fynn and his wife Kianda the guardian dragon and queen of our seas. Forced to flee for the survival of their baby our princess and future monarch they never ascended to the throne and were never seen again.” said Madam Ara.
“All of this happened over a hundred years ago, so what does it have to do with Tyde?” asked Coralia
“It has everything to do with her. Can’t you see it? She is the only one of her kind and her mark is that of the royal family.” Replied Madam Ara.
“How can I be your princess I am only 18 years old not some shrivelled old woman who is barely live any more.”
“Listen child, there are so many things you have yet to learn about, and the biggest task is learning who you are. Before you can figure that out you need to know your history, your origin and your bloodline. Your Father is King Fynn son of King Luther III and Queen Marina. Your Mother is Queen Kianda, dragon guardian of our seas.”
“But how does that explain the 100 years time line?” I asked
“Both your parents are from powerful bloodlines gifted with powers beyond your imagination. I am sure that between them they must have conjured a spell powerful enough to shield and protect you for as long as they felt necessary.” said Madam Ara.
With all the new information, I had to agree some things made sense, I killed those Megalodons without trying, that confirms I have powers that no one else has, my father is King Fynn, and my appearance is different from all the other mermaids I’ve seen since I’ve been here. I believe I am the lost princess, but I still have a lot of unanswered questions.
