Perfect Mistake

Gender reveal

After we got home from the doctors we just spent the day relaxing and talking about baby names.

“ Noa what’s your full name?”

“ Noa Grace Pérez and what’s your full name Leo?

“ Anakin Ronan Leo Bradford.”

“I have an idea for baby names.”

“ what’s your idea sweetheart”

“ Okay we both come up with two list. The first list is for girl names.We get to put our top five on that list. Second list is for boy names we put our top five on that list. When we both are done with our lists then we can come together see what baby names go together that we like. One from my list and one from your list to make it fair. Then when we find the first names then we can figure out the middle names.”

“ okay when do you want to do this?”

“ now. Let’s do it now.”

Leo laughs and he starts to make his list on his phone and I start to make my lists on my phone. It takes about an hour before we come together and tell each other the names we picked.

“ okay let’s read of the girls list first. My top five are Rowan, iris, Mila, Zoey, and Piper. What did you come up with Leo?”

“ I came up with Fay, Kiera, Ivy, Penelope, and Haley. What did you get for boys?”

“ My top for boys are Tristan, Ocean, Isaac, Luca, and Milo.”

“ I got Reign, Milan, Jaxson, Bryson, and Matias.”

“ so we need to come up with names for two girls, two boys and if we are having a boy and a girl then we need to come up with those too. So from hearing both of our list we have names that start with the same letter and I would love if we could have the twins name start off the same”

“ I’m okay with that. So from your girl list I like the names Rowan, Piper, and Zoey. From your boys list I like the names Milo, Ocean, and Luca.” Leo said

“ Well the names I like on your girls list are Penelope, Kiera, and Fay. And from your boys list I like Reign, Milan and Matias.”

“Well from looking at the ones that we picked out I think Milo and Milan would go perfectly together if we had two boys.”

“ I love those names together and for the girls Piper and Penelope would be amazing.”

“And last but not least for a boy and girl we have Reign and Rowan.”

“ oh I’m so excited. Hey Leo look at us being a head off the game.”

“ Hey Noa guess what?”

“ what?”

“ we still have to pick out middle names.”

“ Right. Okay let’s make it fun. For the names that I picked out you get to come up with the middle names and for the names that you picked I come up with the middle name. But we won’t reveal the middle name until the twins are born.”

“ I like that. It’s going to be a surprise for both of us.

“ Are we going to reveal their names tomorrow or wait.ooo babe I have another good idea.”

“ seriously Noa.” Leo laughed

“ let’s give the names that we picked out to Alex since she has our envelope and ask if she can add the babies name into the gender reveal.”

“ Whatever you want to do sweetheart.”

After I told Alex my idea. She said that she will try but they have most of the stuff done. When I went back to my room me and Leo had a Criminal Minds marathon for the rest of the day.

The next morning Alex and Lily where already gone because they needed to set up for the reveal party. Once Leo and I woke up we spent the day getting ready.

Today I’m wearing a white off the shoulder lace flare sleeve dress with nude wedges. Leo is wearing a white button up long sleeve shirt and tan pants.

“ Leo what time is it?”

“ it’s almost 1:30pm so we got thirty minutes before we have to be at the venue”

“ I’m almost done I just got to finish my hair.”

It’s the beginning of December so everything is happening indoors. I decided to have my hair down with loose curls.

When I get downstairs I can’t help but notice how good Leo looks dressed up.

“ Hey hot stuff you ready to find out the gender of our babies.” I say

Leo looks around and then points to himself. I laugh and nod my head.

“ did you just call me hot stuff?” Leo says as he opens the door to the garage.

I just laugh and nod my head. Once we get in the car Leo says “ You don’t look too bad yourself

Sweetheart.” And then he starts laughing.

When we arrive at the venue Leo helps me out of the car and I notice that almost everyone is already there.

As I walk into the venue my eyes start to water because of how beautiful it looks. Right when you walk in there are two chalkboards on a table. One chalkboard is split into two and on one side it says team girl on the other team boy. On the other chalkboard it is split into three. Team girls, team both, or team boys. I look and of course all my brothers picked team boys.

When you walk further into the venue the colors pink and blue are every where. At the very front of the venue there’s a table with a three tier cake that says twinkle twinkle little star how we wonder what you are.

Then surrounding it are little cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries , and cake pops. It all looks so pretty.

“Everyone we are about to get started.” Lily yells

“ Before we get to the gender reveal we thought it would be fun to do the old wives tale to predict the genders than after that we will get to the gender reveal and food. So I’d the mothers to be and the dads can cook up to the front.” Alex says

Leo and I walk to the right side and Kate and Tyson are on the other side. Beside us are chalkboard that have the wives tale on one side and the gender on the other side.

“ Okay The first wives tale that we are going to asks are for the dads. If the mother is more moody you’re having a girls. If the mother is mellow you’re having boys and if she’s the same then both.” Lily says

Leo circled both and Tyson circled girl. When Tyson circled girl Kate crossed her arms over her chest and everyone started to laugh.

“ Next question is if the mother sleeps on the right side it’s a girl. If she sleeps on the left side it’s a boy and if she switches sides then it’s both.” Alex says

Leo circled boy and Tyson also circled boy.

“ okay if the heartbeat is over 140 than it’s a girl if it’s under 140 it’s a boy.” Lily says

“ Now since the dads got to do the mood moms get to do the weight. If dad had gained weight with the mother then it’s a girl added if there is no weight change then it’s a boy.” Alex says

Me and Kate both circled boy. Even though I’m pregnant I try to do some form of exercise with Leo and so does Kate with Tyson.

“ next question is if mom craves sweets is a girl and if she craves meat and cheese or a boy. If she craves both then she is having both.”

“ Now be nice with this next onde dads. If mom has a glow and her hair has been grieving she is having a boy. If moms hair had been dull and she had acne she is having a girl. If nothing changed then she is having both.”

Leo and Tyson both circled boy and everyone laughed.

“ And the last question is if mom has morning sickness it’s a girl and if she has had little to no sickness it’s a boy.”

“ now let’s count up the results.”

As they were doing the results Leo’s mom and some of Leo’s family including the twins walk in but his dad is a no show.

“ it’s says that you both are having a boy. Now I need Noa and Leo to take a seat because Kate and Tyson are first.” Lily says

As Lily is getting set up me and Leo go and greet his family. While I’m talking to Leo’s aunt Lily comes around and gives everyone a canon thing

“ okay on the count of three everyone pop your canon. Alright is everyone ready.?” Lily asks

And all you hear is everyone yell yes

“ on three. One two three.”

Pink confetti goes everywhere and all I see is Kate with tears in her eyes as she hugs Tyson. I can’t believe my best friend is having a girl. I’m so excited for her and now I’m getting anxious because I found out the gender to my babies next.

“ Congratulations Kate and Tyson your are having a girl. Do you have a name that you want to announce.”

“ Everyone I’m happy to say that baby Sofia is coming soon.” Kate says as tears of joy fall down her face

While Alex is getting ready for Leo and I on the other side of the venue. I go and hug Kate with all my might.

“ I’m so happy for you.” I say to Kate

“ your next bestie.” Kate said

“ Can everyone join me on this side of the venue please?” Alex asks

When I walk to the other side of the venue I see two things are covered up by a blanket.

“ okay so we are going to do a countdown from three. Everybody ready?” Alex asks

Again people yell yes. We don’t have any confetti things so I’m wondering what’s about to happen.

“ counting down from three. Three two one.”

And right after we said one pink and blue smoke come out from behind blocked letters that were covered by the blankets. The pink smoke was behind the white wooden letters that spelled Rowan and blue smoke was behind white wooden letters that spelled Reign.

Leo screamed and picked me up bridle style. I have tears just running down my face.

“ looks like we are having a boy and a girl.” Leo yells over everyone’s screams. He kisses me then sets me down on my feet.

“ congratulations Leo and now y’all are having a boy and a girl. Now everyone can see by the letters that y’all already picked out the names for the twins but I think Leo should say the boy’s name aced Noa the girls name.”

“ My son’s name will be Reign.” Leo said

“ My daughter’s name will be Rowan.”
