I head straight home as fast as I could. I had no words to say, only smiles to show. The walk home was ten times faster than the walk there. Today had been eventful. Eventful. Yes, very eventful. But I had no worries now. The hottest guy I'd ever met was taking me out to dinner! I was ecstatic!
I finally reached my small home and unlocked the front door. Immediately, I texted Brendon to be sure he knew of my number. I wanted to make a good impression. I took a seat on my over-used sofa and began to ponder.
Thoughts rushed through my head...
Wouldn't it be weird, sitting at a dinner table with the guy who just looked inside my mouth? The guy who I shed tears in front of? The guy who jabbed a needle into my gums and drilled holes in my tooth?
The events of the day rushed through my head too. This morning I met a beautiful dentist who was very attractive. Next he was checking out my teeth whilst I was staring into his eyes. Soon after he told me I needed a filling and I began to cry in front of the newly met stranger. I later had to return due to a brownie. I collapsed into the beautiful dentist's arms and he picked me up. Things had escalated quickly! Part of the procedure took place until he told me about the feelings he had for me and how he wanted to take me for dinner. Was this all a pity act because he felt bad for me?
There were so many questions I had and answers I wanted! However, I was interrupted by the sound of my mobile device bleeping at me. It was a text from Brendon!!
It read; Hey Lola, I'm about to leave the office! Message me your address? I'll pick you up straight away. Remember, it's my treat! ;) xx
I couldn't go out looking like this! I rushed upstairs and slid on my favourite dress. It was red with a black belt. It wasn't the nicest thing in the world, but it was comfy and all I could afford!
Around 10 minutes past...
Knock Knock
It was the door!
I jolted out of my seat and rushed to open the door. There he was. The beautiful dentist. Standing in my doorway!
"Hey Lola, so this is where you live?" He seemed confused.
"Yes, this is my house" I answered in an embarrassed tone. "It's all I can afford!"
He smiled.
"C'mon lets go, you ready?"
It was as if he was gesturing for me to take another seat in the dental chair. I knew it wasn't like that at all, but I just couldn't stop feeling like going out to dinner with a dentist was a strange thing to do.
Brendon was still in his work clothes. He wasn't going to dinner like that was he? I glanced up and down his body and he seemed to notice.
Brendon sniggered at me.
"Don't you worry Lola, I'll get changed straight away. This probably makes you feel very uncomfortable!"
I nodded my head at him.
"We just need to head back to my place, I hope that's not a problem?" he asked raising one eyebrow in hope for a positive answer.
"Sure" I replied.
"Great, well c'mon, we best get going!" Brendon let me lock up. Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me along to his car in an excited attitude.
"Here you are m'dam" He held the door open for me as I sat down in the passenger seat. He was being very playful but I still felt strange. I giggled and he slammed the door, his gleaming white teeth on show the whole time.
He had a very nice car! A black BMW coupé. It was clean and smelled great on the inside!
Brendon jumped into the drivers seat and started the ignition.
"My house is only a 5 minute drive from here Lola." he said very informatively. "I've booked us a table at Shislabones."
My eyes widened as I heard the name...
"Shislabones?" I repeated.
"Yes, is there a problem with that?" he asked me rather concerned.
"No, no. There's no problem at all. It's just that I.. Errrr.. It's very expensive there isn't it. I've always wanted to visit but I've never had the money. Brendon, are you sure about this? I can..."
Brendon placed one finger on my lips gesturing for me to be quiet. It was strange his finger not being gloved!
"Lola, this is my treat like I said. I want us to have a good night!" He removed his finger from my lips and smiled gently.
"Thank you Brendon" I smiled.
"Lola, I love you." He removed his eyes from the road as he said this. It hit my deep.
"Aww, Brendon! We've only just met but I feel like I've loved you forever!" For the first time in forever I smiled showing my teeth. I clasped my hand over my mouth in shock. I never show my teeth when I smile...
Brendon looked very confused. We just pulled up in his driveway when he asked me why I looked so shocked.
"It's just that, well... I hate my teeth. They embarrass me." I sighed.
"Lola, you're beautiful. Don't let anything bring you down okay. When I give you your cleaning in two days time, I'll see if there's anything I can do to help you regain confidence." He smiled placing one hand on my knee.
Before I knew it, Brendon was out of the car and rushing round to my side. He opened the car door and bowed down to me. I hopped out and messed up his hair. He laughed and we headed for his front door.
His house was much bigger than mine, it even had it's own front drive where his car was perfectly parked. He unlocked the front door and guided me inside by my hand.
"Welcome to my humble abode!" He giggled and I joined him.
"Feel free to take a look around whilst I get ready, I'll be quick. Promise!" He quickly kissed my forehead and rushed up the spiral stairs.
He kissed me. Lips or not he kissed me. The beautiful dentist kissed me. I was in shock. I loved it! I had a feeling tonight was going to be a great night!
I hadn't bothered exploring Brendon's house. I didn't want to be rude so I just stayed in his porch waiting for him to return. I had a feeling I'd have plenty of time to explore the house at a later date...
Brendon didn't lie when he said he'd be quick! He took short strides down the stairs whilst adjusting his tie.
'Wow, he looks great' I thought to myself.
Brendon was wearing a simple white button up shirt, black jeans and a black tie. His hair was combed back into a messy quiff and he looked like an angel! He sure did scrub up well!
"How do I look?" He smiled.
"Wonderful" I replied and he came and gave me a huge hug. We've no time to waste Lola! Let's go!"
The car ride to Shislabones was filled with giggles and small talk. We were getting along great!
Once we arrived at our destination, Brendon once again kindly held the door open for me. I thanked him with a hug and into Shislabones we went!
