SEEK BATTLE I
“I’ve had just about enough of this crap!” Alec Holman swore aloud.
He was frustrated, scared and enraged all at once and the need to do something – to strike out at the ones trying to kill him and the other people he was charged by law with protecting – was now enormous. Looking ahead, he saw the kids, Annie and Darren, and beyond them the cause of all the insanity. She was practically being carried by the man Ellis.
That guy’s hardly breathing hard!
Alec was panting and slightly out of breath. He was glad the man was on his side in this fight.
Suddenly, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up.
Duck! Duck! Duck!
He threw himself to the ground. A bullet passed directly overhead, in the space where his head had been just a second ago.
“PEW! PEW! PEW!”
