Chapter 17: Shadow Wraiths Strike Again The Shadow Wraiths didn’t take long to catch up. Their leader, a hooded figure with glowing red eyes, confronted Shu and his companions in the middle of a desolate canyon. “The Celestial Core belongs to us,” the figure hissed. Lian Hua stepped forward, sword drawn. “You’ll have to get through us first.” The ensuing battle was fierce. Shu, still reeling from the orb’s integration, struggled to control his powers. The rune pulsed with energy, but each attempt to summon it resulted in chaotic outcomes—one blast turned a Wraith’s sword into a bouquet of flowers, while another created a small tornado that blew Shu off his feet. Despite the chaos, they managed to fend off the Wraiths, thanks in large part to Lian Hua’s skill and Wen Zhao’s surprisingly effective use of a frying pan as a weapon. --- Chapter 18: The Journey Continues With the Shadow Wraiths temporarily defeated, Shu and his companions regrouped. “Your powers are ridiculous,” Lian Hua said, half-praising, half-criticizing. “Ridiculous or not,” Wen Zhao added, “they’re our only hope. The Celestial Core is just the beginning. If Shu truly is the World God’s heir, the fate of all realms rests on his shoulders.” “No pressure,” Shu muttered. As they prepared to continue their journey, Shu couldn’t help but reflect on how far he’d come. From an unlucky village boy to a (still unlucky) heir to unimaginable power, his life had taken a turn he could never have predicted. “Lucky for the unluckiest, huh?” Shu said with a grin. Lian Hua groaned. “If you keep saying that, I’m leaving.” The trio set off, the horizon filled with both promise and peril. Shu’s journey was just beginning, but one thing was certain: it would be anything but ordinary. -end of chapter 17-18 (season final)
