See Me Only Me

Lucas Pov

Those thirty-five minutes were the best thirty-five minutes of my life. Hearing her voice again. Hearing her say my name. I wanted to run to her and kiss her long and hard in front of everyone. It took everything in me not to do so. Her smile made my heart jump. I couldn't stop staring at her. The way she walked with confidence even though I knew she was nervous. She had gone off and cried. I not only heard her but I could see it in her face when she came back but she composed herself and didn't show it to anyone. She will never know what she does to me or has done to my soul. She came close to me. I got to touch her. I got to kiss her soft smooth skin. Her scent danced around me, teasing me, seducing me. I knew she was affected by me too but I didn't want to embarrass her. I just wanted this moment to last longer. I knew it couldn't so as soon as I finished eating, I got up and left. It was hard and took more strength than it did to fight off five rogues but I did it.

Elena Pov

"Gran?"

"Yes, dear," I grabbed a slice of apple pie and sat on the counter. "You look happy."

"Oh, I am just thinking,"

"About your date?" she asked. Then it hit me. My date.

"Oh, no. I kind of forgot about that," I told her. I ran home after work and stopped by gran's house before going to mine.

"I met someone,"

"Someone," she smiled. I told my gran everything but this was hard to explain since I wasn't sure what just happened.

"I mean we literally just met and that was it," I told her. "He came by the Pug Mug and had coffee but he was so handsome."

"So you have a crush,"

"It was more than that. If you could believe it."

"Looks like it was," she laughed softly. "So tell me about him."

"Well, he has very beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair. He has this dark gaze but he looks so gentle and sweet."

"Oh, so you spent some time looking at him," she teased.

"He asked me to sit with him, all the pugs loved him," I told her. "His name is Lucas."

"Honey, don't go falling for some stranger now,"

"I'm not," I think she knew I was lying and that I had already.

"Okay,"

The Next Morning

-Can't wait to see you tonight- Calvin.

I just replied with a "me too" and went to go shower. I had breakfast and headed to work. Gran was already at the bakery so I just called her and let her know I was leaving for work. She wished me a good day and hoped I would see my crush again today. Just her mentioning him made my heart tighten up.

"Hey," Rachel said. Carmen was off so I knew I would have some peace and no talk of Calvin. I was wondering if he would stop by even though we had a date tonight.

"You okay? You look tense," Rachel asked me.

"I'm fine," but I wasn't, not really. I was in this funky mood all morning.

"Good afternoon," I heard his husky gentle voice say. I quickly turned around to see him. My heart leaped and I wanted to leap into his arms and greet him. The pugs beat me to it.

"They really do love you," I said. He smiled at me and I felt my face get hot. I knew I was blushing but I couldn't stop.

"They are very cute. Just like you," He said the second part so low I don't think anyone but me heard him.

"Hey guys," I heard another familiar male voice say.

"Damn it," I thought. I had kneeled down in front of Lucas to play with the pugs as he had done when he first came in.

"Elena,"

"Calvin," I looked over at Lucas and he looked upset. His eyes went darker. Like a storm.

"Um, your usual," Rachel asked Calvin.

"Thank god for Rachel," I thought.

"Yes," Calvin went over to sit down at his usual table. I think he was disappointed when none of the pugs followed him. They all stayed with Lucas and me.

"I should sit down too," Lucas said.

"Oh right," I said. He held out his hand and helped me up. The warmth that radiated from his hand to mine made me nervous. I swallowed hard and stood up. I went over to get Calvin's order and then went to ask Lucas his. The tension in the air was thick and made me feel really uncomfortable.

"Hey Elena, want to sit down with me for a bit," Calvin said. I let out a breath not out of annoyance but I was so scared to say yes. I didn't want Lucas to feel, Woah wait. He is not my boyfriend or anything. Should I be worried? I went over to his table and sat down. I could feel Lucas's gaze on me. It burned. I felt like I was doing something wrong but I really didn't know why. Calvin suddenly got a call and had to leave early. Those ten minutes were so hard to go through. I cleaned up Calvin's table and then I felt him behind me.

"Um, did you need anything?" I asked Lucas. Rachel had gone to the bathroom and Ken had been in the office this whole time. No customers were in the shop so it was just me and him.

"I want you to see me, only me," he whispered. I held my breath and closed my eyes. His hands came around me and took mine. I was holding on to a mug and a plate and didn't want to drop anything but I wanted to drop everything and kiss him.

"See me, only me," Lucas whispered again. He took the plate and mug from me and placed them on the counter. He turned me around so I could face him. I bit my lower lip and his hand reached my bottom lip. He slid his thumb across it. He leaned in closer.

"Elena," Rachel called.
