Nora’s steps halted, and a faint smile curled up on her lips.
“Is there something you need, Mr. CEO?” she said, feigning innocence.
“It’s nothing significant, just a simple invitation for a cup of tea. From one perspective, our company caused some misunderstanding for you, didn’t it?” Dominic raised an eyebrow.
This outcome pleased Nora immensely. Her goal today was just that, to get close to Dominic.
“If the CEO is so kind, then I’m willing to accept the offer. Please, lead the way.”
“Alright.”
Dominic led Nora to his office. He carefully instructed his secretary not to let anyone disturb them, as he had something to discuss privately with Nora.
“What is it you want to talk about?” Nora deliberately pulled up her dress, her eyes flirting with the man before her. She couldn’t believe anyone could resist her charm.
“As Felix mentioned earlier, we’ll help you find the information.” Dominic said while typing on his computer.
“You’re being ridiculous. Such a simple task shouldn’t require the CEO’s personal attention! Does that excuse sound convincing to you?”
Dominic stopped what he was doing, slowly approached Nora, and flashed a sly smile.
“What do you want me to say?”
Nora was not shy. She yanked on Dominic’s tie, bringing his face close to hers, their noses touching as she whispered, “With just the two of us here, a man and a woman, what do you think I might think?”
Dominic pretended to be innocent, “I already told you, I’m helping you find information about your boyfriend. I despise those who ‘bite the hand that feeds them’.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes.”
“Then keep looking! You’d better find him!”
With that, Nora let go of Dominic’s tie, turned, and sat on the guest chair, crossing her legs.
“Don’t let me interrupt you, Mr. CEO. Continue your search!”
Dominic didn’t respond, returning to his desk. Instead of searching for any “Etham,” he calmly worked on his paperwork.
Nora remained seated, occasionally sipping her tea. The situation grew more interesting; the man across from her was quite captivating.
After about thirty minutes, Nora spoke up. “Have you found any information yet?”
Dominic merely smiled, not responding.
Seeing his haughty demeanor, Nora immediately approached him.
She waved her hand, pushing the documents off the desk. Climbing onto the desk, she wrapped her arms around Dominic’s neck.
“Mr. CEO, don’t you find the air conditioning in here a bit cold?” Nora’s gaze was intensely seductive. She was like a hunter, and the man calmly sitting there was her prey.
Dominic said nothing, his eyes fixed on a file. Despite Nora’s overly intimate actions, he didn’t reject her.
“Mr. CEO?” Nora whispered, pulling down her dress strap slightly.
Just as her dress was about to fall off, Dominic swiftly held it up, lifting her aside. He leaned in and whispered, “Miss, it seems you have quite the interest. Your boyfriend just cheated, and now you’re in another man’s arms.”
“Who might this other man be?” Nora mischievously asked, wanting to hear Dominic say, “It’s me.”
“Oh, and stop calling me ‘Miss.’ My name is Nora, Nora Miller.” Nora added.
“I’m curious, Miss Miller. How do you feel knowing your boyfriend put a pair of horns on your head?”
Nora’s heart skipped a beat as the image of Anna and Elias in the hotel flashed in her mind. Her hands trembled, and she had to pinch her thigh to stay calm. She couldn’t lose face in front of Dominic.
“Don’t call me Miss Miller. Just call me Nora. After all, you’re only ten years older than me; it sounds too distant.” Nora smirked, wrapping her legs around Dominic’s waist.
“You seem to be in quite the mood!”
“Of course! To you, ‘Etham’ is just a name in front of a capable and charming man.”
Nora gently placed her hand on his lips, silencing him.
With one hand around Dominic’s neck, she whispered in his ear, “You and that scoundrel are worlds apart. How can there be any comparison? He’s just a talentless employee, with morals at the bottom of society. But you’re entirely different, handsome, capable, running a huge corporation at thirty, and known for your loyalty! How can there be any comparison?”
“Alright, enough acting!” Dominic said, pushing Nora aside and standing up to dust off his clothes.
“What do you mean?” Nora asked.
“There is no boyfriend, and you don’t know anyone named Etham. It’s all fabricated!” Dominic took Nora’s seat and calmly sipped the tea next to him. He had seen through her tricks long ago!
“That was just your excuse!” Dominic continued.
Nora looked at the man before her, raising an eyebrow slightly. Truly, wisdom comes with age!
“When did you figure it out?” Nora didn’t deny it.
Dominic remained silent, sipping his tea.
“No wonder you’re the CEO of Anderson. Now I understand why you’ve built such an empire. Your insight is indeed remarkable.”
Nora smiled, adjusting her clothes and sitting opposite Dominic. Now, her demeanor appeared composed.
“How old are you, Miss Miller?” Dominic suddenly asked.
“I’m 20, a communications student. We met this morning at the hotel.”
“I know. Surely you didn’t do all this just to interview me, did you? A second-year communications student?”
Nora laughed, realizing the man before her was a fox. He saw through everything.
“Yes, it’s unrelated to my major.”
“So it’s a personal matter!” Dominic chuckled.
“You’re sharp. Surely you realize my purpose in coming here, right?” Nora’s eyes became sultry again, toying with the cup in her hands, her gaze fixed on the man before her.
“Miss Miller, you know,” Dominic suddenly changed his tone.
“What is it?”
“The photos you photoshopped were too obvious. A closer look reveals they’re fake. Do you think someone careless like that interests me?”
Nora was speechless. The man before her was incredibly infuriating! Didn’t those hastily edited photos fool all his employees?
“Stay calm, stay calm,” Nora told herself.
She looked up, locking eyes with Dominic.
“That’s uncertain. If you weren’t interested, why did you invite me up here?”
