“And it’s another beautiful day here at Royal Liverpool. Welcome to day two of the 147th Open Championship.” The dulcet tones of Eddie Franklin, the BBC’s golf commentator, boomed out of the television set in the Manor’s sitting room where Olivia and Georgiana were waiting to watch Sebastian tee off.
Georgiana had filled her work diary with sporting events, starting from the end of July. She had promised Olivia she would be at home when the baby came. She had also given Sebastian her word that she would stay while he played in The Open. Her bosses at the BBC hadn’t been pleased, given her popularity with the golfing audience, but she had put her foot down and remained in Appleton Vale.
