The Queen and Her Protector

Chapter 10

Charlie looked at her council members in confusion. How could this happen at all and why now all of a sudden with her reign? It felt like it was all just tumbling down right now.

“So how can we get it back?”

Tyler spoke this time.

“You have to go inside the temple and pray Your Majesty, talk to the Divine and She will provide you with the answers, hopefully.”

Adam came to the temple and watched Charlie go in. She was going to in and he knew from the laws that only she was allowed in.

Charlie walked in and felt like she wasn’t supposed to be here, that she was undeserving after being so vengeful.

“Why do you are undeserving?”

Charlie was surprised by the voice, she was not expecting it. She took a seat by the lake and looked at the beautiful fish in it, roaming about peacefully.

“Because I just killed a man without even considering his side of the story.”

“What if I told you those men were also responsible for your parents’ death?”

“I don’t know how to feel about this.”

“What do you feel now?”

“I am confused; you bestow all this power on me. You give me this planet to protect and also a galaxy. I don’t think I’m the right person.”

“Not once have you asked me about the plant. You are the right person; you just need to begin to believe it. This war is only beginning and you need to be ready. I will give you the location for the first leaf. You will get the next location when you find the first.”

“Okay, one question though. Why did you bestow the powers to planet Venus?”

“I had great faith in Venus and I always will.”

With that the voice disappeared and Charlie emerged from the temple.

She looked at the people staring at her; she needed to be the Queen and act like it.

“Council members, I will be journeying to a place to find the plant. I cannot disclose the location, I’m sure you understand. Tyler we need to prepare and have Venus protected. Adam we need to talk in private before we depart.”

All of them nodded at her instructions then followed her back to her quarters. She spoke to Tyler first to arrange some sort of security measures for Venus. He explained he would call The Guard and hopefully they would protect Venus till Charlie and Adam’s return.

Adam was next in line and they went to their room to talk.

“Charlie.”

She turned to look at him; her face had an extremely painful expression.

“Did you know who they were?”

Adam sat down on the bed.

“No but I didn’t want you to kill him.”

“Those 2 were there when my uncle and aunt died and I also received information that they were responsible for the death of my parents. I will not apologise for avenging their deaths.”

“Charlie, I’m sorry kitten, I didn’t know.”

She went to him and touched his hands. He really didn’t know that and she was so ashamed for reading his mind and believing he knew. She placed her head on his chest and cried a little more.

“I’m sorry, I really am.”

“I know, the pressure and the intense training. I get it.”

“It’s no excuse, I shouldn’t have…”

Adam chuckled as he lifted her face to look straight into his. He kissed the top of her head and held her for a while.

“Our relationship is going to have arguments, you need to be okay with these arguments. We’ll settle them like we always do.”

“With fighting or irrationally.”

Adam pushed her until she felt the bed and ravished her. She clung and he clawed; as if they were in battle with each other. He devoured her as if he had been thirsty for days. She felt him lifting her so she wrapped her legs around his waist. He heard her sigh his name and drew her closer. Placing her further up the bed, he looked at her then went back to kissing her. He could feel himself losing control but he didn’t care. Charlie tugged his hair and heard him growl at her. Adam felt her rubbing against him which made him hold her waist really tight.

Tyler appeared and announced himself. Adam smiled and got off the bed and pulled Charlie with him so that they were standing facing Tyler.

“He has the worst timing.” Adam whispered.

“I think he enjoys it.” Charlie whispered back.

Tyler smirked at them, they were truly the best couple he had witnessed in centuries.

“Your Highness, Your Majesty all is in place for your departure, how long will you be gone?”

Charlie left Adam’s embrace and started packing her essentials.

“A few days, Tyler I need you to take care of Venus, is this possible?”

“I believe so, they’ll be after the plant which means you will take the danger away from here.”

Adam went to his cupboard and started packing as he spoke.

“I think it’s also best if the shield is brought up.”

“Yes Your Majesty.”

Charlie looked at them, very confused.

“A shield?”

“Tyler and I have been building a shield for this moment, we didn’t want to use it but we have to now. It means Tyler won’t be able to beam, no trading of any sort will take place until the shield is brought down. It’s for the people’s protection.”

Charlie tried to take the news as best she could.

“Okay this is new.”

“Tyler make sure that all Venusian soldiers are ready at every area to protect citizens just in case. All Venusians must return home immediately. Begin the access code programme as well and make the council aware of this. I need all hands on deck right now, prepare the safe house facilities and the departure back up just in case. I want our people protected and every resource used for that. I’ll take the suit so I can help Charlie and good luck.”

Charlie stared in awe of Adam, she knew he had that type of commanding authority but she had never truly witnessed it upfront. It was prodigious and it turned her on immensely. Adam zipped up his bag and took Charlie’s. Adam nodded at Tyler who beamed them to Paris.

Charlie looked around and saw that they were in front of a hotel. Adam walked in to the hotel with their bags and she followed him. He spoke to the receptionist in French and within a few minutes they had a room for them. When Charlie walked in she was astonished at the room, it was so beautiful and massive. The room had a dining room with a glass table and chairs and on the other end of the room it had a blue sofa, two chairs and a glass coffee table and above the sofa was an elegant mirror. There was a balcony with glass doors that overlooked the Eiffel tower. Charlie went to the room and saw this massive bed and an en-suite connected to it with a glass door shower and a Jacuzzi. Clearly Adam Stewart had spared no expense for this type of room. She jumped on him and he caught her, loving this blissful mood she seemed to be in.

“And to what do I owe this pleasurable mood wife?”

“Your sexy authoritative ways and this exquisite room.”

Adam chuckled at her comment, well he was definitely not going to deny her this mood. Charlie rested her cheek on his shoulder.

“I know it’s in Paris, I haven’t a clue where to start but the lady said I’ll find it in my dreams.”

“The lady?”

“From the temple.”

“Charlie that’s the Divine.”

“How do you know Adam?”

“I don’t, I just believe and you will too.”

Charlie kissed Adam’s neck and he groaned.

“I believe we haven’t had a honeymoon.”

“Charlie.”

Charlie heard his stern warning behind the tone and rolled her eyes. She took his face and kissed him. Adam’s hands were touching her cheeks and in her hair. Charlie closed her eyes as she moaned a little at his touch and shifted herself to mould more into him. Adam took her earlobe and dragged it with his teeth. He watched as she opened her eyes to stare at him. The look Adam gave her was really intense. She let out a breath she had been holding in. She watched as he lifted her onto the dressing table and she held onto his shoulders. Adam liked how she licked her lips and let her tongue linger on her bottom lip for a while. Charlie needed Adam to touch her.

“Adam…”

She touched his cheek because she wanted to feel that stubble again. After kissing Adam; it felt like someone else was in her body and controlling everything. Charlie watched as this time Adam closed his eyes then opened them to glare at her.

“You know what you want cannot happen.”

Charlie shook her head then leaned forward to kiss him. She opened her mouth so that he could explore it. Charlie felt Adam’s grip on her waist tighten. In the process of kissing him she took his bottom lip and drew it between her teeth. Adam’s hand went up her pants; caressing her thighs. When she grabbed his hair she heard him growl then push her away. Adam knew she was dangerous and off limits but he wanted her nonetheless. Charlie Willis would be the death of him. He made the mistake of looking at her, her lips were swollen from his ruthless kissing and she looked even more flushed than before.

“Adam I…”

Adam despised himself right now for giving into it.

“Don’t you dare say it, do not even speak it Charlie, goodness sake I can’t think straight with you.”

Adam left the room before she could change his mind about taking her. Charlie fixed herself and made her way to the bathroom and slammed the door. She poured herself a bath and put some shampoo and made it into a bubble bath. His mood frustrated her, she knew he wanted her just as much as he wanted her but he wouldn’t do it. Charlie growled in exasperation, Adam Stewart was going to pay dearly for this.

She already had a plan formulating in her head as she played with the water, lifting and dropping little droplets.

Adam unpacked their bags then he sat down by the desk, Charlie really knew how to make a man die of frustration but still live enough to be annoyed. He knew that most times she couldn’t help herself, it was part of the powers she had.
