Do you really love me, Isaac?” Suzanna asked in a doubtful tone.

We had just reunited after a breakup. She had recently caught me cheating on her with her closest friend. We then decided to put our differences aside and be reconciled. Her insecure eyes projected directly into my soul as she spoke to me. We were at Woodland resort located at Standard Suburb near St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale. She was dressed in a flowered Kitenge miniskirt that clearly outlined her brown and well-fleshed thighs. Love birds always match in their dressing, so there I was in a pair of Kitenge shorts of the same pattern and texture and a white T-shirt which read the word soul. Suzanna’s read mate, so when we stood side by side you could read the wordSoulmate.

“I love you so much Suzanna,” I replied as the light in my eyes came into contact with her brown eyes. All this was happening in a gazebo that we had reserved through the management. She had booked a Choma na Nyama get together reservation package. The gazebo was built of Bamboo and roofed withmakuti. Flower pots surrounded it with rose bushes growing from them,  promoting serenity. There was a fridge inside the gazebo full of all sorts of drinks. All this was happening in a gazebo that we had reserved through the management. She had booked a Choma na Nyama get together reservation package. The gazebo was built of Bamboo and roofed with makuti. Flower pots surrounded it with rose bushes growing from them, promoting serenity. There was a fridge inside the gazebo full of all sorts of drinks. I took a bottle of red wine and served its contents into our wine glasses which already held little ice cubes. She took the glasses and handed one to me. ”Be my guest”, she said. Holding glasses full of wine enjoying the cool breeze of this sumptuous environment. We joyfully enjoyed roasting two kilograms of mutton. Burning furnaces of love were rejuvenating in us. “Then come and see my parents,” she suddenly said. Those words almost made me choke on the wine. “You mean I come for an introduction?” I asked, shocked. “Yes, my love. It is the highest time we take a bold step to move our relationship to the next level. It is my wish that you be mine forever. I love you so much Isaac, despite the fact that you have been hurting me more often. Like last time I caught you cheating on me with Sandra.” Tears of bitterness to the betrayal subject started rolling down her cheeks. Suzanna was this kind of a go-getter who when she aimed could not afford to miss. Her words pressured me. I knew it could not end well as I was the guilty one, so I interjected before she continued. “Give me the date,” I said to her. These words could cover my mistakes which she wanted to prelaunch. “Tomorrow,” she replied happily. I don’t know where her tears disappeared. She was a drama queen indeed. “Tomorrow is too close,” I said to her. “Time waits for no man,” she shot back. “I need to recollect myself and see how I will go over it,” I replied. “But you just bought a zero mileage Benz from the showroom,” she pointed out. I moved close to her as my hands rested on her size eight hips and kissed her forehead. “Matters of love cannot be compared to material objects. Introduction, my love, needs time,” I said to her. “How long?” she asked. “As soon as I am ready,” I sophisticatedly told her. ”Be specific “, she said while her sharp eyes got into contact with mine. I went silent for a moment. I felt like I had been cornered. All I wanted was to evade the discussion of meeting her parents. ”Next month,” I finally replied. “Next month?” she asked with an exaggerated surprise. “No hurry in Africa,” I jokingly said. “Too long but promise not to hurt me again,” she said. “Your wish is my command. If only I had the ability to make you feel yourself from my heart then you would understand exactly how I love and want you to be by my side forever.”I told her, smiling sheepishly. “A lie,” she shyly said as she rested her head on my chest. An old friend once told me women are sophisticated. When they say yes they mean yes and when they say no they still mean yes. Here I knew I had won, next month it was. “Not a lie Suzanna, will you marry me?” I proposed holding a ring in my hand. “Yes I will,” she said with a lot of joy while I placed the gold-coated ornament on her ring finger. She was full of love and happiness over my take. Her sweet lips unexpectedly got in contact with mine. That was the most passionate feeling I had ever felt. Love always makes people do crazy things without fear. Her hands moved across my back with emotion as she was overwhelmed. “Can’t you find a room?” A voice from a nearby gazebo distracted our merry-making. I wondered why some people never mind their own business. That is how her sweet kiss became short-lived as our senses came back with the realization that we were in a public place. We discussed until we came to a consensus of the date I was to meet her parents. I thought I knew what I was involving myself in. I had decided to settle and start a family of my own, Suzanna being my running mate. The weekend ended well as we had utilized it to the maximum. We explored places like Sirwo resort and Saiwa swamp over that weekend. Rolling with the new Benz a sugar mummy had bought me as a gift. Lady Makena was my jackpot sugar mummy and we had been together for quite some time. I didn’t know much about her but on one occasion while drunk she slipped and talked about her family. She talked about her two daughters, a son, and her ever-busy husband who is lazy in the bedroom. Lady Makena is extremely rich. She owns residential apartments in Millimani estate, Kibomet, and Standard. She is also a director in one of these international schools. Rumour has it that she financially sponsored the Governor’s campaign in the previous elections. The Benz she bought me was due to the good job I had been doing to her. The day when I was to meet Suzanna’s parents had finally come. The guard opened the gate as I drove into their compound. She was waiting for me outside their Mansion. We hugged each other as she directed me into the sitting room where the rest of the family was expecting me. Guess what? I was shocked by what I saw. Her elder sister is my ex-girlfriend and my history with her is chaotic. The younger brother is the dude we once fought with over a girl. To my surprise, her dad is the same Dr.Solai who advised me to stop accompanying girls as they had their abortions. He once threatened me to leave Sandra alone claiming that she was his woman. Finally, her mother is Lady Makena, the sugar mommy who bought me a brand new Mercedes Benz compressor. The house was silent, everyone looking at each other. I felt like talking but what could I say? All this time Suzanna was standing beside me, holding me by my left hand and smiling…
