Blurb

As a young child I was told many stories, from dragons to fairy tale princesses but never have I ever heard one of shifters. Well...turns out I am one, not only that but a kitsune of all creatures, now I'm part of the shifters academy and I don't think that's the end of it. I feel like there will be so much more in store for me. As for my family? I no longer have any, it's not just me and my two best friends who I know will be there through thick and thin. I suppose that's great. I just wanna finish this year without any interactions, doubtful with queen bee Amanda. Just need to keep my head down, pretend I'm just a fox to survive the next few years at this new school.

Chapter 1
I stared gloomily out my window, the rain pattering down on it. Of course the most cliche thing had to happen, down pour on probably one of the worst days of my life. Something happened last night, something that had my mother sending me away. I had changed, I went from a 5'6" tan-ish, skinny with a medium butt and smallish breasts to a nine tailed fox. My fur matched my hair, my hair has always been strange, it always had been white. No one could explain that, they thought it was a genetic mutation of sorts. only difference, my tail tips were a light lavender color. I thought it was beautiful. Well my mother didn't. "Mom I..." I start, looking over at her. "I am not your mother." she snapped, almost snarling like a wolf. I tried not to let those words get to me..I tried but they did. Blinking back the tears in my eyes I said "Fine, Marian, where are we going?" All I know about this trip is that she had me pack my bags, like as in moving out pack. Not a vocation pack. "Somewhere your kind belongs." she snaps before falling silent. That pretty much meant she was done talking. With a sigh a laid my head against the window and closed my eyes. Sometime later I was awoken with someone roughly shaking my shoulder. I looked over at Marian before looking out the window. There was people everywhere outside. Some were hanging around socializing, others were studying with friends and some were just laying around enjoying the sun. There was even a tiger laying out in the lawn. It was kinda like a college scene in one of those silly movies. My eyes then went to the building, it was huge, kind of castle like with stones for walls. Moss was also growing up the sides as well. In the back there were statues, behind the statues were smaller buildings and more people hanging around there. Then I saw the kitsune statue, it was empty and definitely needed some tending. The plants were dead and nobody was around, it was completely avoided. I climbed out and watched as what I assumed was the owner of the school come towards us. "Hello, I'm Ms. Clemens. I'm the principal of this school. You must be Lotus?" Her head tilted to the side in a wolf like posture with her question. "I..uh yes." I respond before looking back when I heard noise. Marian was at the trunk basically throwing everything I had packed out of the trunk. Once done, without even glancing at me she climbed back into the car then took off with a screech of her tires. "Don't worry about her, humans will never understand, that's why we send witches to them to make them forget...if a human ever comes across one of us." Ms. Clemens gave me a small smile. Ms. Clemens looked like your typical principal or I guess librarian, she had her hair in a bun, though you could tell she would be a lot prettier if her hair was down. More then likely in her mid thirties, given some of the grey's and the crows feet around her eyes. "Come with me, I'll get you your schedule then I'll have someone take you to your dorm." I grabbed my luggage to follow her and caught a glimpse of a girl with ice white hair. Her skin was fair, her lips ruby red. She had ice blue eyes. She was flawless. As soon as she saw me looking, her lips quirked up in a smile before she turned to whisper to one of her friends, both of them glancing at me every now and then. "Come along Lotus." Ms. Clemens beckoned me before entering the building. With a sigh, I followed her. My first day here and I don't know anything about what I am, about the culture and what is to be expected of me. What I do know though, my life has definitely changed, for the better or for the worst, I wasn't sure yet but I now felt complete and whole. We entered a large circular office. It was pretty grand, the desk looked like accent oak while the chair was a nice fancy leather. There was a beautiful red bohemian rug underneath the desk and a dark bookcase in the corner. "Alright Lotus, this is your schedule, classes did start today but I am willing to allow you a couple of days to get acquainted to the school as well as the students. If you have an trouble, problems and or issues talk to one of the staff or come to me. My door is always open. There are classes where you will be with students of your year, some with older and some with just those of your animal. Good luck, I know you will succeed in what you do and accomplish everything here." She gave me a warm smile that pretty much lit up her face before leaning towards the microphone. "Amelia, your wanted in the office, Amelia come to the office." She let go of the button. "Alright Ms. Lotus, Amelia will give you the tour of the school then show you to your dorms." With that she turned towards her computer, a clear dismissal. "Thank you Ma. Clemens." I move towards the door, curious as to who this Amelia Is. Maybe a first friend, hopefully. I honestly did not want any conflict on my first day. that would just be humiliating. I looked down at my schedule in the office. 7 classes total. Breakfast 1: Shifter history 2: Botany 3: Fox shifters and how to control the shift 4: Hunting Lunch 5: Finding your magic 6: Fighting/Gym 7: Math I frowned and wrinkled my nose. Of course there was math. There always had to be effing math. Deep down I had been secretly hoping that I could get away without math, hoping that it wouldn't be a requirement. Tutor here I come I thought to myself as I exited the building, only to walk straight into someone else.
