When we came back from shopping, V and I both decided that we would assist in the set up for the bar b que that is taking place after the pack meeting. We figured it would be fun to decorate and it would make the time go by much faster. We draped strings of white lights around four trees making a square that surrounds the tables. On each table we have silver and black lanterns in the middle and two white candles on the sides. we added sliver and black streamers around the tables and put up a bunch of balloons as well. They put together a platform to make a stage and there are two huge speakers on each side for some music and dancing. There is a path of candles that leads to the back yard. It's beautiful. V and I are really excited for this because we actually get to enjoy it and have fun, not cater to it. We didn't mind helping with set up. I'm actually going to wear something other than my go to which is yoga pants and a spaghetti strap shirt. I picked out a black black dress that has big white angel wings in the back and silver flip flops. V wouldn't let us see what she got. she said she wanted it to be a surprise and I could NOT wait to see her. I'm standing here looking at everything we have done so far. We didn't go all out with the decorations because this is just a formal bar be que and not anything fancy but I've to say, looking over everything, We've done a damn good job if you ask me and when I heard what Luna Ally had said, I knew we did a good job.

"WOW"

I hear, and turn around to see Luna Allison walking towards Veda and I . She has a box in her hands and placed it on the stage.

"You ladies really did a great job out here."

"Thank you"

Myself and veda both reply at the same time causing all of us ladies to start laughing. We seem to do that a lot. We will either finish each there's sentences or say something or do something at the exact same time. We can't help it, and every time it happens we can't help but to crack up at one another.

"What's so funny?"

Off in the distance we hear the voices of the men ask us and before any of us can answer, Alpha Joe walks right up and grabs Ally, bends her down and kisses her with a passion. V and I wolf whistle whilst the guys groan in disgust.

"Eww."

"Gross."

Where.the comments of my brother and Noah.

"Get a room!!"

Noah hollers at them jokingly, making Ally roll her eyes at the guys remarks and I just shake my head and smile up at Noah who then winks at me and smiles back at me causing me to blush and fan myself.

I mentally roll my eyes. He knows what he is doing. He knows I like him and he likes me. We have been good though, we have not done anything other than flirt and that one kiss. We are not mates and neither one of us wants to start something we know we can not finish for a few reasons. A, and one of the most important reasons is, we don't want to hurt one another, and B, we don't want to hurt our future mates, well, his future mate. Second chance mates are a rarity. Anyway, it won't be fair either way so we don't do anything besides flirt, secretly that is.

"We just came out here to see how the set up was going and for me to see my love. It looks like everything is ready to go. Thank you ladies so much, it looks absolutely amazing. Before the other Alphas get here for the meeting, I'm meeting with John Michaels of Michaels construction to go over where the new warrior building and the new houses that I am having built will go. He should be here any time and then we will have the Alpha meeting and then....PARTY TIME!!!"

Everyone yells. V and I needed some fun in our life. We waved goodbye to the guys who then started to head inside. I noticed that Noah was staring at me with a cocky, sexy grin on his handsome face. I still can't believe we kissed. It was amazing! I wanted to tell my girls but didn't. I wasn't sure if it would upset or even bother Noah. so I kept it to myself. I walked over to the stage where Luna Ally had brought out and I saw that there were a few more strings of lights that she wanted to put around the wooded archway. I told her that I would do it and went to the archway to put up the lights, but because I am so short, I asked Veda if she would go with me to find something to stand on so that I could reach to put the rest of the lights up and ahe agreed. We made our way inside the pack house to the kitchen to the step ladder that is in the storage room. I didn't realize that Ally had followed us inside until I was leaving the storage room that was off to the right of the kitchen. I saw her sitting in a chair just snacking on a few chips and she had this look on her face like she wanted to say something but wasn't sure she should. I could also feel something was up with her so I decided to ask.

"Ally?"

"hmm"

she hummed as she was staring off to the side in her own head. She had this look like she was miles away.

I knew it, something IS going on

She seemed lost in her own head. Which isn't like her to act this way She didn't even look at me when she acknowledged me. I was not mad though because whatever it is that is going on is something VERY important and I can't tell if it's good or bad so it has me worried for my friend.

"Something is bothering you, what's

wrong? is everything okay?"

She snapped her head and looked at me with her eyebrows raised and a look of shock on her face that was immediately replaced with amusement.

"You're having one of your feelings aren't

you?"

She countered, Trying to avoid my question. A few days after I got here when I swore my brother

said.

"Those who aren't her parents"

the second day when we arrived and Alpha Joe was questioning myself and Ally. I told Ally and Veda about my 'feelings' that I get and how I swore I heard Adam say out loud, but I was told umpteen times that he didn't say a word, Anyway, neither one could explain why I can do that but Ally suggested that I embrace it. whatever 'it' is and open up and see what happens and where it goes and that is what I did. Now those feelings are stronger and I can't explain it. Now it's like I can hear thoughts or read minds but that's impossible. I'm not a witch or anything special like that so I don't know.

"Yes, I am and it's super strong with you."

She sighed heavily and without even opening her mouth because we were face to face, I heard it.

"I'm pregnant"

I gasped audibly causing V and Ally to look at me with the eyebrows raised in curiosity and Ally to look proud because I am getting better at my "gift" as Ally likes to call it.

"YOU'RE PREGNANT?"

I blurted out with our realization that Ally might have wanted to keep it a secret

Ally's eyes grew wide in disbelief and V gasped whilst smiling like a Cheshire cat, hardly containing her excitement for our friend.

"H..how did y...you?" Nevermind. YES!! I

found out yesterday. I was acting a bit different and feeling sick and took a test. I've been waiting for the right time to say anything. I was going to announce it tonight but since you and V have become like my sisters I couldn't keep it in. I just didn't want to upset you because I know your mate was a dickwad, piece of s**t. Speaking of that, when are you going to tell us who this f**k face asshole was?"

At first I chucked at what she said about Chris but then I was taken aback. I don't know why she would ever think I'd get upset or hurt over her being pregnant because I was mated to a piece of s**t. I pulled her in for a hug and so did V, careful not to squeeze too tight.

"I'm so happy for you. Does Joe know?"

"I told him this morning. He was extremely

happy. He has always wanted to be a

father."

She wiped a tear from her cheek. I was so incredibly happy for her. Ally is an amazing person and deserves all the happiness in the world.

"This is awesome. yes my mate rejected me

and is an asshole but I'd never be mad at that. You both deserve the best. You guys took us in when we had nobody and showed us how and what a REAL pack is supposed to be and anyway it's not over for me yet. I could still get a second chance

mate. Yes It's rare but it happens and even if I didn't get a second chance mate I can always take a chosen one, as for who he is? well, he isn't worth a name or my breath and time, That's how much I hate him. Eventually I will tell you all, I promise Anyway, enough about my pathetic life. What do you guys want?"

"Your life is not pathetic. You just hand to endure something NO ONE should EVER have to go through and you survived. You are stronger then anyone I know. Things that could have broke you didn't and you pulled your way out and you're smiling. you should be proud of yourself"

Ally tell me. I love her so much.

"You guys will be wonderful parents."

"Thank you V and Steph. Joe wants a boy and I want a girl. I'll be happy either way."

"I can't wait until you find out. I'm going to

go put these lights up. I know the meeting

is starting soon so people will show up

shortly. I'll meet you guys outside?"

"Okay and yup! see you in a bit. "

I left the kitchen and went out back. I set up the step ladder. I didn't realize it was a bit rickety until I stepped up. I was still a bit short so I had to stand on my tippy toes to reach. I was just about to wrap the last bit of lights when I felt the ladder sway. I stopped to try and balance myself but it didn't work. I lost my footing and fell. I thought I would hit the ground until I felt someone catch me in their arms bridal style and then felt shocks and tingles. As soon as I looked up into the eyes of my rescuer, we both said "mate" at the same time. He was beyond gorgeous. He had short brown hair like a fade and almost shaved off with chocolate brown eyes. His chest was rock hard and when he spoke I swear it took my breath away.

"Are you okay?"

He asks me whilst starring into my eyes.

"Y...yes. Th..thank you."

I stumbled out. His lips curled up into a devilish smile that had me swooned. He gently placed me down on my feet but kept his hand on my lower back.

"My pleasure. I'm glad I could catch you

before you fell."

A blush crept on my face. Still with his eyes on me he introduces himself.

"I'm John"

Just hearing him speak heats up my insides and don't get me started on his smell. It's like Chocolate and mint but also earthy and old spice deodorant. He smells better then literally anything. Not even Chris smelled this good. I was so fixated on him that I didn't even notice Alpha Joe was also there until I heard the sound of a throat clearing which made me blush even redder but something about John seemed so familiar. I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Her name is Stephany."

He says for me which made me snap my head towards him. I can't believe he did that.

"What? you took too long in telling him your

name."

He shrugs his shoulders and chuckles. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Welp, I have some guest to welcome. Alpha John, thank you. The plans you have drawn up are just what I was looking for. I'll see you in a bit at the meeting."

He tells us, leaving us there but then turns and winks at me and smiles. He just had to make it a point to address John by his title so I knew. I looked back up at John who was already starring at me. We locked eyes for a few moments and I was lost in them. I guess I do get a second chance mate. Moon goddess, what game are you playing? Just when I got the nerve to speak up and talk to him, I was interrupted. ugh!
