Chapter three.

1117 Words
Alpha Arthur’s POV: The ball was already on and I still did not want to attend. As a matter of fact I had already sent my officials to go ahead of me so that I could join them when I wanted to and I would do that soon enough. Tonight was the full moon, every werewolf’s dream of finding a mate would most likely be fulfilled under this full moon. Except mine, this is my seventh year after clocking eighteen and there was no female for me here in the pack. All expected bonds were shattered under the full moon. Even mine, especially mine, there were three close cases. But my dad had advised I marked no one until the full moon. But now there is nothing to verify and my wolf is gradually driving me crazy with all the yipping he is doing in my head. With a sigh I finally stood up and went down to the ballroom. The music stopped momentarily when I stepped into the ballroom, a look from me and they struck up the dance again. There were too many unfamiliar scents and they were beginning to give me a headache. These visitors that were imposed on us by the alpha king were doing a horrible job of blending in, and I could not blame them because they never had a reason to cross the borderline and we never went there unless it was for patrol reasons. We can’t just let them die from outside attacks, the alpha king would be pissed. The itchiness would not go away, my wolf was the reason for this unsettling. Maybe I needed some air. It would probably be due to the clash in scents. I stepped out of the ballroom through the nearest entrance that I saw and breathed a sigh of relief when the night air filled my lungs, I felt the pressure in my head and the itchiness ebb away. As I exhaled I stopped, there was something in the air. Something that was not quite there before, or was there since I stepped in but I did not pay much mind to it. The scent was sweet, that was the best way I could describe. It was sweet, and I just wanted to bask in it. I turned to my left and I saw the source of the scent. A lady was there. She was beautiful, her side view was enchanting, and the moon light was just doing wonders to her image. Her hair was exquisite, something my fingers itched to wrapped around them. But something was wrong, something was really wrong. She was yet to recognize my presence. Oh goddess, this just cannot be. No, my Queen and Luna could not be from the other side of the pack. Endrei’s POV: I took my time turning to my right because that was where the aura was coming from. I did not know what I hoped to achieve by this but I just knew not to turn in a hurry. I finally turned and locked eyes with the man that stood in front of me. It was unintentional, but I just could not look away. There was just something in his eyes that kept me rooted on the spot, and oddly I was not afraid. I was comforted, could this be? Was this man my mate? “Mate.” I found myself whispering, or rather my wolf said out loud because I could not control my body at the time. I am sure my eyes are glowing. “Mate.” The man said to me and began walking towards me, the aura that was once frightening was now very welcoming, and I wanted to bask in it for life. His hand reached for my face and I found myself expecting his touch. I just wanted to feel his skin on mine. All of these emotions were very unusual to me, even my erotic novels did not hold a candle to how I am feeling right now. As soon as his hand touched my cheek I knew he was the one. There was no mistaking the tingles that ran down my spine when his skin touched mine, I purred when his hand got into my hair. It was just so soothing that I wanted this moment to last forever. Alpha Arthur’s POV: I heard the words from her lips before my wolf echoed the words from mine, her eyes were so beautiful I wanted to drown in them. My foot moved before I could comprehend what was happening, but I soon got the gist. My wolf was moving on instinct to recognize the presence of the mate bond. Eye contact has been confirmed, now it is time for the skin to skin contact. The shocks that ran down my arm were not to be mistaken. As a matter of fact it demanded I recognize and accept it, on its own accord my hand moved up into her hair, it was softer than I imagined it to be. She purred, she freaking purred at the contact and I was more than ready to complete this bond. I heard a throat clear behind me and it was enough to clear whatever haze I was under. But there was no such luck for my female, her eyes were still hazy as though she was high. My hand that was still in her hair was the cause so I removed it and she blinked. Her cheeks immediately flushed when her actions sank in. She suddenly inclined her head in a bow and I raised a brow, of all people my aura should have nothing on her. This was just too much. I turned to see who had interrupted us and it was Beta Kingsley who was looking on with an expressionless look. Well I had a lot of explaining to do, but first things I needed to know who this female was so I could know the next steps to take. “What is your name mate?” I asked her without releasing her from the bow, this was to test how much effect I had over her. “Endrei Harlan sir.” She said but she did not rise up. I took in her stance, it was barely there but she was still straining a bit. This would not do, I needed a really strong Queen and Luna for my pack. They would chew her up and swallow her whole in just minutes. Something had to be done and it had to be done fast. “Take her to my office.” I said to Beta Kingsley through the mind link before I left the vicinity.
