The next morning, the university campus was filled with energy. Students walked quickly to their classes while others gathered in small groups, laughing and talking about their assignments.
Amara Mensah walked quietly along the pathway with her bag hanging over her shoulder. Her mind was still thinking about the strange meeting she had in the library the day before.
She remembered the moment their hands touched while reaching for the same book. The memory made her smile a little, though she did not know why.
“Daniel,” she whispered softly to herself, remembering his name.
She shook her head gently, trying to focus on her day. She had two lectures that morning and an assignment she still needed to finish.
After her classes ended in the afternoon, Amara decided to stop by the small café near the campus gate. The café was a favorite place for many students. It was always filled with the smell of fresh coffee and baked bread.
Amara pushed the door open and walked inside.
The warm smell of coffee filled the air. Soft music played in the background while students sat around chatting or working on their laptops.
She ordered a cup of tea and found a quiet table near the window. From there, she could see the trees outside moving gently in the breeze.
As she sat down, she opened her notebook and began writing some notes from her lecture.
But suddenly, a familiar voice spoke nearby.
“Well… this is a surprise.”
Amara looked up.
Standing a few steps away from her was Daniel.
For a moment, both of them looked surprised.
“You again,” Amara said softly.
Daniel smiled slightly. “I guess the campus isn’t as big as we thought.”
Amara laughed a little.
Daniel walked closer, holding a cup of coffee in his hand.
“Do you mind if I sit here?” he asked politely.
Amara shook her head. “No, it’s okay.”
He pulled the chair opposite her and sat down.
For a moment, there was a small silence between them.
“So… do you come here often?” Daniel asked.
“Sometimes,” Amara replied. “Mostly when I need a quiet place to think.”
Daniel nodded. “Same here.”
They both looked out the window for a moment.
Then Daniel said, “Did you finish the book we were reading yesterday?”
Amara smiled. “Yes, I did.”
“And?”
“It was interesting,” she said. “But the ending was a little sad.”
Daniel chuckled. “I thought the same thing.”
Slowly, their conversation began to feel more natural. They talked about their classes, their favorite books, and even the most difficult professors on campus.
For the first time, Amara felt comfortable talking to someone she had only just met.
As the sun slowly began to set outside, the café lights turned on, filling the room with a warm glow.
Neither of them noticed how much time had passed.
But deep inside, something quiet and new had begun to grow between them.
Something neither of them fully understood yet.
And this time, their meeting didn’t feel like an accident anymore.
It felt like the beginning of something special. 💕📖
