The following days passed quietly, but something had changed in Amara’s routine.
Every time she walked across the campus, she found herself looking around without realizing it. Sometimes she looked toward the café, and other times toward the library shelves where she had first met Daniel.
She didn’t know why she expected to see him again, but a small part of her hoped she would.
One afternoon, after finishing her literature lecture, Amara decided to return to the library. The sky outside was cloudy, and the wind blew gently through the trees. It felt like the perfect day to read.
Inside the library, everything was peaceful as usual. The quiet sound of pages turning filled the room.
Amara walked slowly between the bookshelves and found an empty table near the window. She placed her books down and began reading.
Almost an hour passed.
She was deeply focused on her book when someone gently placed another book on the table in front of her.
Amara looked up in surprise.
Daniel stood there with a small smile on his face.
“I thought you might like this one,” he said.
Amara looked at the book he had placed on the table. It was a novel written by one of her favorite authors.
Her eyes widened slightly.
“You remembered?” she asked.
Daniel nodded. “You mentioned it at the café the other day.”
Amara felt a small warmth in her chest.
“Thank you,” she said softly.
Daniel sat down in the chair next to her instead of across from her this time.
For a few minutes, they both read quietly.
But the silence between them didn’t feel awkward. It felt comfortable.
After a while, Daniel closed his book.
“Do you always spend this much time in the library?” he asked.
Amara smiled. “Almost every day.”
Daniel laughed softly.
“You must really love books.”
“I do,” she said. “They help me understand people and the world better.”
Daniel nodded thoughtfully.
“That’s interesting,” he said. “I usually spend my time drawing building designs.”
“Architecture is your passion,” Amara said.
“Yes,” Daniel replied. “I’ve wanted to design buildings since I was a child.”
Amara listened carefully as he spoke. She could see the excitement in his eyes when he talked about architecture.
For the first time, she realized that Daniel wasn’t just a quiet student.
He was someone with dreams and ambitions.
As the afternoon slowly turned into evening, they continued talking and sharing stories about their lives.
Little by little, the distance between them began to disappear.
What had started as a simple meeting in the library was slowly turning into a beautiful friendship.
Neither of them knew where it would lead.
But one thing was certain.
Their paths had crossed for a reason. 💕📖
