The doctor's clearance of my injuries felt like both a relief and a burden as I folded the medical release papers and slipped them into my jacket pocket.
After days of being confined to the hospital and the house, the thought of returning to work should have made me happy. Instead, I felt dread of the unknown settling in my stomach.
"Ready, sir?" Dmitri asked as he held open the passenger door of the black SUV.
