The sound of the front door opening made us both freeze as we turned towards the door way at the same time. Was Xenois back? I didn't hear the car drive in. Or was I too fixated on if he was lying to me that I forgot to pay attention to my surroundings.
Xenois's voice was loud enough to be carried out through the house as he called out, "Celeste? Boys? I'm home!"
