The two girls stared at each other as if no one was superior.
“That’s enough for you two!” Vermillion said as he steps in
After the tension went down we all went to the library. I was in front but I could feel the fuss behind me. Looks like the two girls are still arguing.
“Good day Veronica” I greeted as I enter the library
I didn’t know that she had a guest and I might have raised my voice a bit, how rude of me. Veronica is currently chatting with a lady that has dark violet hair so I let her be and waited for them to finish.
“I’ll just take a quick walk” I said then I went on my way
I really don’t want to roam around instead I only said that to see who Veronica is talking to. I am just a little bit curious, that's all. As soon as I pass their table I turn around and I saw Celestina with a cheerful look on her face
“Looks like someone is a peeping tom!” someone teased
“Oh Thalia you’re still here” I embarrassedly reacted then I quickly avoided her
She grabs my uniform and won’t let me get away
“Wait just a sec?”
“What are you doing here?” She ask with authority
“Well I am going to talk Veronica regarding something but turns out someone got to her first so I decided to roam around for a bit while waiting” I said
“Okay!” She said with a smile on her face
“That said, why this particular area?”
“I know your true intention Ramon better just spill it already” She teased
“Okay you got me”
“I am just curious who the librarian is talking to. I really didn’t expect is was your mother sorry”
“If you don’t mind me asking why is your mother here?” I curiously ask
She moves her face closer then whispers something in ear
“I shouldn’t be telling you this but she’s a member of the board now” She whispered then kisses me in the cheek then went on her way
“That’s my payment for answering your question” She said
I didn’t know how to react but I seriously feel nothing like I really didn’t care at all. She then hands over a book to her mother and Celestina shakes Veronica’s hand afterwards. Finally their little chat is over. Then Thalia whispers something to her mother’s ear and they boat look at me which made me feel uncomfortable so I went walk away heading the opposite direction. As I try to hide I was able to keep an eyes on them and apparently they both exited the library with the book that Thalia handed over
“What on earth are you doing!” someone said from behind me which somehow startled me a bit
“Oh Marg it’s only you” I reacted
“Come on I like you to meet someone” I said as I grab her hand and pull her towards Veronica
“Guys come one” I excitedly said to the two sitting on the table
“Veronica I would like you to meet another potential god candidate” I eagerly said which surprise Teodosia and Vermillion
“So you’re Alexandra’s little sister”
“Go on show me your mark” Veronica said
“Huh? What mark?” Margaret was weirded out
“Excuse us” I embarrassedly said
“The mark that was on your for head when you were facing Sir Draco” I whispered at her
“I can’t recall” She said
“Could you atleast give it a shot?” I ask
Margaret approaches Veronica for the second time then uses her spirit art magic, her eyes turned crimson and her hair started levitating then light shines from her forehead that is slowly spreading throughout her face. Then light strikes down from the ceiling targeting Margaret. Everything happened so fast, dust and debri where everywhere luckily no one got hurt
“Looks like I’ve missed my target”
“Oh well I am sure I can’t miss” Someone said coming from the library’s entrance
“Hold your horses Cely”
“I instructed the girl to show me what she is capable of and you know I can handle this situation on my own, right?” Veronica said
“So that’s what Celestina is capable of”
“A bit frightening but hey she’s a member of the board” I reacted inside my mind
“Sorry for the dilemma please continue Ms. De Villa” Veronica said to Margaret with a pleasant smile
“And as for you we will take later about the damages” Veronica said to Celestina with authority
“De Villa you say, I didn’t know that a student is a part of the Trinity” Celestina reacted
“Sorry Ma’am but the one you’re pertaining to is my sister Alexandra the Diablo user” Margaret said
After everyone settled down Margaret continue where she left of and the mark did appear complete
“Extraordinary” Celestina said
“The demon lord’s son be a good boy and show us your mark please” Veronica said
With hassle Vermillion unbuttons his uniform as he walks in front of us. He removes his uniform and there is this mark on his back that exactly looks like the one that Margaret has on her face
I don’t know why but Celestina looks joyful and glorious all of a sudden
“Veronica what do two identical marks mean?” I ask
“Well Ramon if you individuals possesses the same candidacy they will fight for it”
“As soon as the mark of the other one fades it is over” Celestina said
It seems Celestina wants to see Vermillion lose. That would be horrible for the demon clan’s status. On top of that Margaret is power hungry lately and I am sure she’s going to take this seriously. I really don’t care who becomes the next God but I just want a peaceful negotiation between them. Maybe they can straighten things out.
“So we are foes” Margaret said then giggles
“I guess so” Vermillion said as he put his uniform back on
“Yes, you are foes but other god candidates are present in this very room”
“Am I right Ms. Utopia and Ms. Bathala” Veronica said
“That being said I want no one will speak of this again”
“What we’ve heard and seen should not be leaked for the sake of the candidates”
“That includes you Anino!” Veronica shouted then Anino came out of her shadow
“How in the world did she manage to sense his presence with me noticing it” a thought inside my head
“If you don’t mind me asking Veronica what is your ranking” I ask
“Excuse you!” Celestina reacted but with Veronica’s simple hand gesture she immediately shuts her mouth
“The ranking didn’t change throughout the years even us descendants know about that”
“I know what you are really thinking Ramon, if I am so powerful why am I not in the board”
“The answer is quite simple, actually I just don’t want to govern over something. I don’t want to get attached to random people. I don’t want to dismay them because I lack characteristics that please them. Most especially I rather outcast myself than to mingle with others”
“There are plenty of gods for them to worship but I don’t care if I have followers or not as long as I find a worthy descendant that would be enough” Veronica said
“So what rank are you on?” I curiously ask again
“Just to satisfy your curiosity I am rank third” Veronica said
“Your eyes? Are you a spirit arts user as well?” Margaret ask
“No my dear, I only acquire my sensory magic through reading”
“Try it you might learn something” Veronica endorsed
“Well I think we are all done here”
“Remember my warning everyone. No one must talk about what happen inside the library okay” Veronica said
“Yes Ma’am” I said
“Hey Ramon check your watch” Vermillion said
I looked at my watch and we were out for almost an hour now. I wonder what the three girls are doing now. It is awfully quiet as we head to the office. Looks like the students went home already. I gently open the door and saw them sleeping on the table with the paperworks all finished and compiled properly
We wake them up and they look so freaking adorable. I just want to eat them up
“Took you long enough!”
“We even managed to finish all paperworks thank you very much!” Alice seems grumpy
“Well someone woke up the wrong side of the table” Vermillion teased as he chuckles
“There there, we really appreciate it same goes for you two okay”
“Thank you for finishing all the work” Margaret said
“That said how about we head to our place and I’ll prepare a meal for all of us” I proposed
“How about we head to my sister’s house instead I am sure she would acknowledge your presence”
“Between you and me she’s head over heels for your cooking” Margaret said
“Then your place it is” I said
Upon exiting the office we saw Teodosia and Thalia standing at the hallway as if they were waiting for someone
“No!” Margaret rudely said with her hands place on her hips
