I was the world's leading surgeon. People said there wasn't a surgery I couldn't perform.

In my previous life, I restored Brian Miller's paralyzed legs. Only afterward did I learn that the Miller family had publicly declared that whoever cured Brian would become the future Mrs. Miller.

Brian was forced to marry me. Meanwhile, his childhood sweetheart, Cathy Green, died in a car accident on our wedding day.

On the night of our wedding, Brian dragged me to the morgue to see Cathy's body, preserved in formaldehyde.

He held a knife to my throat and snarled, "Cathy and I were in love. Why did you have to operate on me? You killed her! Aren't you the world's greatest surgeon, Lillian? Bring Cathy back to life!"

As blood poured from my body, I begged weakly, "Cathy is already dead. I can save the living, but I can't bring the dead back to life."

But Brian refused to listen. He stood there and watched me bleed to death.

After I died, he threw my body to a pack of wild dogs.

When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the day the Miller family invited me to treat Brian.

Looking at the man sitting in the wheelchair, his face dark with resentment, I smiled.

"Sorry. I can't help."

Chapter 1
The moment I finished speaking, Brian Miller slowly lifted his head. His eyes were filled with intense hatred. He gritted his teeth and roared, "You quack! Get the hell out of here!" I raised my eyebrows slightly, then turned to Maria Miller, Brian's mother. I put on an apologetic expression and shook my head. "Mrs. Miller, if I can't cure a patient, no one else can. Maybe consider having another child while you still can." The moment those words left my mouth, Brian grabbed the teacup beside him and hurled it at me. I calmly stepped aside. With a sharp crash, the priceless cup shattered into pieces on the floor. Scalding hot water splashed everywhere. Even Maria was startled. She immediately stepped forward and apologized. "Dr. Nelson, I'm sorry. I apologize on Brian's behalf. He's just like this because of his condition..." I waved it off. "I understand. A crippled and powerless man who has lost everything would naturally have a twisted mind. Losing control and taking his anger out on others is quite normal." Seeing Brian's body tremble violently with rage, I let out a cold laugh. Then I turned around and walked toward the door. Maria hurried after me and lowered her voice, almost pleading. "Dr. Nelson, is there really no way? You are the best surgeon in the world. As long as you can heal Brian's legs, the Miller family can fulfill any request you have." But the truth was, it wasn't that I couldn't cure him. It was that I wouldn't. In my previous life, Brian blamed Cathy Green's death on me. He stubbornly believed that if I hadn't cured his legs just to marry him, Cathy would never have lost hope and died. But Brian was too arrogant. He never realized that, to me, he was nothing more than a patient. And Cathy was nothing more than an ordinary medical intern. Even if she had given everything she had, she still wouldn't have been able to cure him. Yet, just to destroy me, Brian watched coldly as I bled out and died. Right before my death, I overheard the Miller family's servants talking. Only then did I learn the truth. The cause of Cathy's death was never some car accident. After realizing she had no chance of marrying into the Miller family, she had found another wealthy man to cling to. But she was caught in bed with him by his wife, who threw her off a cliff. This time, I would no longer get involved in their twisted relationship. I sincerely hoped they would stick together forever. "As for Mr. Miller's legs, I'm afraid I can't help with that." Brian followed us outside and heard that. His voice was deep, with suppressed anger. "Mom, Cathy has already prepared a detailed treatment plan for me. My legs will definitely recover. Don't worry." Maria let out a heavy sigh, her face full of worry. "Every doctor has examined you. Your paralysis was caused by an epidural hematoma compressing your nerves. Without an extremely skilled surgeon removing the hematoma, there is a high risk of damaging your spinal cord. If that happens, you may never be able to stand again..." Brian remained stubborn. He interrupted her impatiently. "It's just surgery. Anyone can do it. Cathy will definitely cure me." I looked deeply at Brian. Then I turned to Maria and said goodbye before leaving. The moment I stepped out of the Miller family's gate, a black luxury van stopped in front of me. A graceful and elegant woman stepped out of the car. Tears filled her eyes. Then, slowly, she begged me, "Dr. Nelson, please save my son..."
