It was another day in the bustling city of New York, Jack Jefferson had just buried his father and Elizabeth was driving to his house to stay a little with her friend. She had gone to the salon and had spent a fortune on her make-up. Jack was going to be alone and Elizabeth wanted to see him now that he was back. "Kiss me" Elizabeth could hear the familiar voice as she stepped into his house, it was Jack Jefferson. Her heart pulsates and she wanted to turn around when the strange smell lingered in her nose but Elizabeth couldn't bring her feet to halt. She moves closer towards his room, her eyes widened as she sees Jack kissing some brunette lady. Her heart squeezed and she wanted to turn around and run away but Elizabeth just couldn't move, she stood there looking at Jack entangled with Lilet. "Jack!" She yelled out and he looked at her. "Elizabeth" Jack breaks away from the woman. He was surprised she was standing in his house. Not that Elizabeth didn't always invite herself over, she has been coming to his apartment ever since he gave her a spare key. Turning around, Elizabeth was walking away and Jack chased after her, catching up with her in the hallway. "What are you doing here?" He asked her the same question that he often asks her whenever she caught him in bed with another woman. "I came… I came to see you but you were with her" "Yes, we were having s*x" "Today. Is… is my birthday" Jack face palms his head, he forgot it was her birthday just like he forgot it was her grandmother's death anniversary yesterday. There was no excuse, Elizabeth was the least of his problems. His life revolved around company and women in tight skirts and skimpy outfits. "Right. I was gonna call you" Jack was quick to cover up "Are you?" "Yes Elizabeth" "But you are with her and is already 6pm" "What do you want, Elizabeth? Should I take you to the park or what?" Elizabeth was not the crazy kind of woman who makes Jack go crazy, she appeared too prim and proper. "Just go and celebrate your birthday" "Without you?" "Yes, I have things to do except you want to join me in there" Elizabeth wanted to join him but she couldn't tell him that she wanted to be the only woman he would be with. "But of course you won't" "That's only because you are with her. I… I love –" "You should go" Jack had in mind what she wanted to say but that was the last he wanted to hear. "Did you read my letter?" "What letter?" Seeing that Jack hadn't read the letter she had sent to him, she turned around and left. In that letter, Elizabeth had told him that she was in love with him, she wanted him to be his dream man, the one who gets to touch her most intimate secrets. Jack runs his hand through his mussed hair, he wanted to run after her and tell her that he saw her letter but he never read it. He was limping on two choices and just when he finally made up his mind to chase after her, Lilet held his hand. "Just where do you think you are going?" "Is her birthday" "So what?" She runs her index finger on his lips "Are you thinking of going to celebrate it with her?" "Yes" "I need you Jack" she whispers in his ear hoping it would turn him on and make him go back to loving her body before Elizabeth interrupted them. "Just stop, today is Elizabeth's birthday and I need to be with her" Lilet glared at him, she was trying so hard to control herself. Jack Jefferson was pushing her to the wall, now that he was about to get back to his feet. "What are you going to do for her? Sing happy birthday and pop some balloons" she mocks "Don't even go there" "She is not fine, Jack" "She is my –" "Your what?" Lilet laughs. "you want to say your friend or your best friend" "Shut your mouth" Jack was controlling himself from strangling the annoying woman. "You can never be with her, I already warned you" "You don't have to keep reminding me" "Then let her go because that woman can never be yours" "I want out' Lilet chuckled. That was not going to happen, Jack sealed her fate to him when he had possessed the red stone and now she had come into his arms. "You can't back out now, I already warned you about that" "Well it had nothing to do with denying myself happiness" "You possessed the stone" "You can have it back, is in the safe" "You sealed your fate when I gave myself to you" "Please, spare me the pep talk, you are not even a Virgin" Lifting her hand, Lilet strikes a hard slap on his face and Jack glared at her. The motion did little to control him from strangling the annoying woman. She Squared her chin stubbornly at him. "Don't you dare go there" "Isn't that the truth?" "Not as if your Elizabeth is one, I'm sure she has had her fair share of women" "Shut your mouth" Jack slams her against the wall. "Elizabeth isn't like you" "You think she is some saint, what if I tell you that she is no different from me, infact, she is even worse" "Shut your mouth, She is nothing like you" "What makes you think like that? Is it because she works around in overstated clothes and appears like a nerd all the time" "She is not nerdy but prim and proper" "What's the difference?" "They are two different things but how would you know that when you don't even have common sense" Lilet quickly pushes him back and strikes a hard slap on his face. "You better not push it" "Go away Lilet, I'm tired and need some rest" "You signed your life over to me, I'm the one who gets to decide what happens or not" "I haven't signed any contract and maybe I won't sign that damn contract" "I will take it from you" "What?" He arched up his brow at her. "I will take everything from you Jack and you will go back to the street rat that you use to be" "I am not a street rat" "True but you couldn't even save your father's company" she moves towards the couch and plops down. Lilet lights up a smoke and blows it out. "Stop smoking in here is bad for my health" Ignoring him, she blows out another smoke. "I gave you what your father couldn't give you" "Don't you dare drag my father into this. He is already dead" "And whose fault is that? Your father was a frail old man, he was going to kick the bucket rather too quickly. That's what he got from breaking the rules of the contract" "What sort of stupid contract is that? You think I want to sign that sort of contract" Lilet tsk. "You foolish man, you are different from your father" "What?" "I picked you myself so you cannot even back out" "I haven't signed any contract, my father –" "Deceived you" Lilet boorishly cuts him off again. "I already told you that your fate was sealed the moment I gave you myself, when you were loving me and I was moaning loudly, you should have known. The paperwork is just a piece of paper, just something for you to remember the rules and not breaking any of it" "You are insane" "I'm the one who gets to decide your fate and I would say that I'm in love with you Jack. I can't let you go and I can't equally loose you to another woman" "I won't be with you forever, I would leave you and be with the woman that I love" "Can you?" She arched up her brow daring him. "Watch me" Jack walked towards the entrance door and Lilet smirks "Step out that door and you will lose your father's company, I dare you to try me Jack Jefferson"
