Dinner was promptly served, and I sat at the end of the foldable table they had set up in the middle of the room, filled with so much food I thought I would cry.
Ranging from expensive steak to the finest wine, it was all right in front of me, and it was mine for the taking.
The attendant returned with two other women, one of whom went to set up the bath, and the other took my measurements for a dress.
"Does..." I started to say, turning to the attendant. "Does this happen often with His Majesty?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me.
He seemed completely unfazed even when my clothes were off, like he had seen it countless times before. Now that I am standing here, being treated like royalty, couldn't t help but wonder if another woman could make her way to him and I could end up discarded again.
"What do you mean?"
I cleared my throat as the woman finished taking my measurements, then pulled out a tablet.
"I mean, does he..." I trailed off then shook my head. "Never mind."
"What colours would you prefer for your clothes, ma'am?" Asked the other woman, and I bit down on my lips.
I loved roses. I always wondered how those pretty pink dresses felt like. The ball gowns, the sexy strapless ones. The silk dinner gowns.
"Red," I answered. "Pink. Blue, black, purple, white, yellow, uhm... everything."
She gave a small smile. "Shall I assume the same for materials and cuts?"
"Yes, please."
"Sure. I will bring the rack here tomorrow morning. Have a good night's rest."
"Thank you."
She walked away with the other woman, leaving the original assistant with me.
"Is there anything else you would need?"
I shook my head. "Thank you very much. "
"A nightwear is folded on the bathroom counter. Goodnight, ma'am."
I didn't reply as she walked away, leaving me to the food that I knew I would never be able to finish.
I slowly got out of His Majesty's jacket, my fingers slowly tracing the expensive, heavily scented material. I closed my eyes.
I hated that a part of me had found this with Kyle. That Kyle had never turned on me the way that he did. But His Majesty wasn't a lesser man, and despite the sacrifice, I shall take it and believe myself to be the luckiest woman.
I got out of the torn dress and made my way to the bathroom. It scented of roses and lavendar, and I stayed in the hot, coloured water for as long as I could, till it went cold.
I dried up and changed into the pretty silk nightgown she had left for me, then stepped out. My eyes landed on the mirror, and I took in my reflection.
My hair was slightly damp, and fell in thin strands down my back. My eyes were puffy, a reminiscent of what had happened earlier, but apart from that, I looked different. Like I wasn't omega. Like I wasn't a slave.
I ate till it felt like I would throw up, till it felt like this was everything I had ever lived for. And once I grabbed that glass of wine, the tears simply wouldn't stop.
My mum would have loved wine. She would have loved this silk. This bed. She would have loved everything that the pain of her death had driven me to get.
A knock came on the door, and I stirred, my brows furrowed. I could barely remember much of last night, well, except for Kyle, but once I started to eat, my memories were blurred.
The knock came again, and I pulled myself off the bed and looked around. It seemed to be morning already, and my eyes landed on the large table of half eaten food, and the glass of wine laying on the floor.
Everything immediately rushed back to me, and I jumped out of bed, then ran to the door without even checking the mirror or anything.
I opened the door, just as His Majestu arrived at the scene, and the attendants, four in total, opened up to let him pass.
I could barely hold myself from falling forward, and I ended up right in front of him, barely hitting his chest, my eyes wide.
The attendants were silent, and the halls seemed to be closing in on me. I took a step back, my heart beating wildly in my chest, my lips parted as I looked up to him.
He looked... unimpressed at best.
"Your Majesty," I managed to say, then took another step backward.
He raised his right brow, his hands slowly moving behind him. He looked like he was ready for a high class event, his clothes as pristine as ever, his scent filling me up.
"Good morning," I said again in attempt to break the silence.
He looked up to the attendant, his eyes cold. "Was she not informed about the wrap up party this morning?"
My eyes widened. A wrap up party?
"I apologize," said the attendant. "We shall get her ready in..."
"Get her ready for the trip instead."
He turned and started to leave, but my mind was reeling fast and hard.
"Your Majesty."
He stopped and turned to me. "Yes?"
"This... wrap up party. Is..."
"He will be there. So?"
I bit down on my lips. "Please let me come with you. I shall do my best to be ready in time."
His eyes went past me to the attendant, and they immediately walked into my room, pushing a large rack of clothes between them.
"I am only obliging because I gave you my word. You have exactly thirty minutes before I leave."
I nodded, my lips parting with a relieved smile. "Thank you very much," I managed to say, then turned and ran into the room.
The attendants seemed to understand the urgency, and it didn't take long for one to come out of the bathroom.
"Please take a bath while we set up here."
I didn't even bother answering, and immediately leapt into the bathroom, my heart beating wildy in my chest at the prospect of meeting Alpha Kyle again.
