I heard the footsteps fading away up the stairs when I sighed in relief and got out of the barrel that I was hiding in. when I climbed up the stairs, I could hear muffled sounds coming in letting me know that the men were busy looking for something. I cautiously tiptoed and to the main door which was open wide ‘this is my chance to run away before he catches on’ I thought and putting on the shoes that Matt had bought for me to wear in the house I ran out of the house not caring to look around at the cars that were parked around the bend.
