VIII. A bell alarms the town of San Antonio De Bexar from the San Fernando church on a brisk Tuesday, February 23, 1836. Inside this church, which is nearly abandoned, a small electrical storm occurs. Bizmark arrives by teleportation with Ryland standing next to him watching over him from the holographic-chamber. Bizmark steadies himself after the odd trek through time and looks around and the mauve walls and says, “This isn’t the Alamo.” A friar from the church, who rang the bell, runs into the congregation and stops abruptly at the discovery of Bizmark, “What are you doing here?” The elderly Chicano man asks as he motions to the door, “De-Bexar is to be evacuated. Santa Anna is marching his army this way. Come, we can seek refuge in the mission.”
