A Deep Abyss

Roman's POV: I ran to the scene where the accident had occurred immediately after I received a call from Tina. "Roman, hello can you hear me?" she asked. I could hear her gasping for air through the phone. "What's going on? Why are you choking up?" I asked her. "We got involved in an accident, Theresa is being taken to the hospital as we speak.... I ... I can't..." "Tina, relax and explain." I said, trying to calm her down in the process. I could hear her relaxing over the phone. I asked her where the accident had occurred, requesting she send the location. Afterwards, I rushed out of my office towards the parking lot. "St Vincent's street. Hurry up!" I told my driver as soon as he came up the car. At a fast pace, we arrived at the accident scene which was being cleared by the police and their emergency team. My eyes scanned the entire scene and fell on Tina who was crying and sitting at a corner not far from the crash. I ran up to her, engulfing her in a tight hug. She lifted her eyes and looked at me. "You came so fast." she said, controlling the tears that made way from the corners of her eyes. I nodded in response and she clinged to me this time, allowing the tears to flow freely than earlier. "It was my fault, all my fault." "Tell me what happened." She explained the incident, demonstrating and trying her best not to break down. I felt sour in my heart as she spoke. "Quickly, let's go to the hospital, Theresa needs us." she cried. I assisted her in getting to the car, urging the driver to drive to the hospital speedily. We arrived at the hospital entrance. Tina got out of the car and ran towards the counter where a nurse stood, speaking to a fellow nurse. "Excuse me, excuse me miss." Tina called out to the nurse close by. She turned and faced Tina. "How may I help you please?" the nurse asked. "I'm looking for a patient, my sister. She was brought in here on an ambulance not long ago. She has short blonde hair." Tina described to the nurse. The nurse seemed to think for a while before saying "She had a large wound on the left side of her head right?" "Yes, she's the one. Please can you take me to see her?" "Wait here please, let me check if she's available to be seen." The nurse left towards a room which seemed to be the doctor's office. I walked up to Tina and hugged her from behind. "What did the nurse say?" I asked her. "She told me to wait here." she replied, holding unto my shoulders. I comforted her while we waited for the nurse to give a report. ********** Few minutes later, the nurse Tina had spoken to earlier came up and told us we could go in. We walked into the ward and saw the lifeless body of Theresa infused with drip bags and an oxygen tube to her nose. Tina rushed over to her bed side and wept. "Theresa, please wake up. It's all my fault, it's all my fault, you wouldn't be here if not for me, please wake up Tessy." I watched as she kept calling to the unresponsive Theresa on the bed. I walked up to the bed and hugged her. "It's all my fault Roman, it's all my fault." "Shh... don't say that..." "But it's true. I should have listened to her, I should have listened..." "Calm down Tee, you need to be strong at the moment. You can't break down ok? Remember I'm here for you always." I assured her. Tina's POV "It's all my fault, I should have listened Roman, I should have." I cried, holding unto Roman's shirt as he comforted me. "You don't have to blame yourself Tee, it was never intentional. Be strong for me and for Tessy please." I calmed down a bit, wiped away the tears from my eyes and looked up to Theresa's lifeless body on the bed. I looked at the hospital monitor and muttered "Will my sister make it out of this?" Roman looked at me in an assuring manner and nodded his head. I look at him, staring deep into his hazel like eyes and also nodded. He helped me up and told me to get some rest. "No, there's no need, I can stay here and watch over her." I refused "That wouldn't do Tee, you need to rest." he replied. "Don't worry about me Roman, you must have work to do so you can go back now and ..." "I ain't leaving you here Tee." He looked at me for a while and then asked "Have you eaten?" I nodded in response. "Then let's go, you need to eat." After much persuasion I agreed to go with him. We got into his car and left the hospital. I saw the car heading towards a restaurant and soon stopped. "Ain't we going to your house instead?" I asked weakly. He looked at me for a while and said "Wait for me here, I will be right back." I watched him enter the restaurant and within a few minutes, came out with a few food containers. He got into the car and it rode away. "Here." he said, holding out the box of food. I collected it immediately and digged into the food. I was honestly starving and didn't want to wait anymore. I looked up and met his hazel eyes looking at me, his aura seemingly intimidating. He noticed my staring and smiled. "What is it?" I asked, confused. "I love the way you eat." he said smiling even more. I felt a hot sensation on my cheeks and lowered my head in embarrassment. Who was he kidding? I eat like an animal. I continued eating the meal in front of me. Soon we got to his house and the driver rode into the garage. He got down and opened the door for us to get off. We entered into the palace like mansion and went to the living room. "I have already told the maids to prepare a room for you so as you can rest. If you need anything just tell me ok?" he said and turned to leave. "Uhmm, I need something.." I said cautiously.. "What do you need?" "Bath..." I said quickly. He looked at me and smiled. "The maids will prepare that for you soon so please relax." he turned and left. I waited a few minutes before a maid came over and urged me to follow her. "Miss Tina, your room and bath are ready." I followed her and went into the room. It was beautiful, more than that at home. I looked around and saw the place had already been prepared properly in a lady-like manner. I went into the bathroom and met the bathtub filled with warm water. I stepped into the bathtub and took a relaxation bath. Few minutes later, I got dressed and laid on the soft comfy bed, dozing off as the time passed. Roman's POV I walked into Tina's room and met her sleeping. I looked at the soul on the bed and imagined her pain in my heart. Her sister was in the hospital, lifeless and in a coma. "Everything will be alright soon Tee, just be patient." I returned to the company to finish up my work for the day and then headed for the clubhouse. "Look who's here today huh? You finally decided to visit." I turned my head to the voice and saw Ryan at a corner. This was the only place to find the fool. "Tina's sister got involved in an accident, she's in a coma." "Purrr..." he spilled at the liquor from his mouth, staring at me in what seemed like disbelief. After a while of silence, a sinister smile appeared on his face, followed by an outburst of laughter. "Why are you laughing? Is there anything funny in what I said?" I asked, not understanding the human. "Oh, of course not. I guess it's the liquor's effect on me." he said. He didn't look affected, neither was he drunk; I could feel it from the atmosphere around him. Just as he was about to take another sip I said "Tina is staying at mine tonight." He froze for a moment and then continued drinking. He got up, went to the bar counter, paid for his drinks and left. I stood at the just abandoned table and thought if he really cared about what I just told him; he was really unpredictable. Getting home, I found Tina already awake and watching TV. She turned around and ran to me. "Welcome back." she said smiling. I looked at her and smiled. "Just woke?" I asked. She nodded and said "They treated me well." I left her to continue whilst I went to my room. The maids had already prepared my bath. Few minutes later, I heard a knock at my door "Come in." The door was pushed slightly and a head propped out to look at me. The slender figure walked in looking pitiful and then sat on the sofa close by. "I came to inform you i'm leaving, I need to go home." Tina said. "Really?" I asked and she nodded. She thanked me and turned to leave. "My driver will take you back." i said and she nodded..
