I looked back at him in horror. Where was this man taking me? He smiled as he looked at me. "I'm allowing you on to my land. No one will hurt you. Don't worry." What did he mean by that? No one would bother me? I looked back out the car window. I needed to leave. Fast. Now. I felt my skin become cold and my heart pounding against my chest. I was panicking. I need to calm down. I took a deep breath in and slowly blew it out threw my lips. I need to jump. I grabbed my things and held them to my chest. I glanced down and saw the door was unlocked. I looked back at him. Confusion filling his face.  "Are you-" Before he could finish, I unbuckled then pushed the door open and flung myself out. I tucked my limbs in, covering my head with my one free arm. The rocks from the road dug into my skin. I could feel the road rash and cuts on every part of my exposed skin. I kicked my foot out and stopped myself from rolling. I pushed up to my hands and knees shaking off the shock. Screeching filled my ears and I shot my head up. I needed to go now! He had hit the brakes hard. I saw the reverse lights turn on. Yep, time to go! I grabbed my things I had dropped and dashed towards the woods. I jumped over the short shrubs that separated to safety of the trees and the road.      I inhaled the fresh scent of the forest and could feel myself purr in approval. I have missed the forest. I kept running, dodging trees and jumping over rocks and fallen trees. I had to come to a stop as my lungs felt like I was inhaling needles. I leaned over, supporting myself on my knees. Boy was I out of shape! I took a few more deep breaths and closed my eye. Searching. I allow the sun to kiss my skin, warming me up. The breeze caressing my face and shifting my hair. The leaves gave the birds a tone to sing to. I smiled. It’s there. ‘Long time no see.’ I heard a smirk in her voice. I could feel her stretching. ‘Yeah. Sorry about keeping you away for so long.’ I apologized to Luna. I had caged my wolf so much since enlisting and after that I just kept her put away. It seemed easier for me to fit in that way. ‘Can you help me?’ I already knew her answer but felt it necessary to ask. I could feel her yawn. I rolled my eyes. I knew her answer. I quickly disrobed and folded everything together so I could easily carry it.             I heard a twig snap behind me. ‘s**t!’ She knew the urgency. I felt my core heating up and my body ache. I dropped to my hands as my spine arched. My bones cracked and realigned. The pain was harsh but quick. I shook my head, clearing my head of the fog. I quickly grabbed my things in my mouth and kicked off the ground and began to run with all I had. The feeling of the wind in my fur was amazing. I had forgotten how nice it was. How much better I could see and hear in this form was a shock. I had forgotten my wolf form. I was saddened by it. I wasn’t paying much attention to where I was going at the time. All that was going through my mind was where I was going to go next. I couldn’t stay here any longer. He knew where I worked. He knew my name. I would have to change my name. I needed to become someone new again. This was going to be a pain in the ass. ‘Could always re-enlist then.’ Luna joked. I rolled my eyes as I slowed to a walking pace. She did have a point. It wouldn’t be hard to go through it all again. I could re-do my life. I was still young. ‘We’re almost 60!’ She smirked. I gave a chuckle. Yeah, were getting to that age, hu? I glanced around, taking in the scenery. I could hear the noises of a city not far from me. Meant I wasn’t far from the hospital. I sighed and told Luna it was time to be human again. ‘We could always just wolf up and live off the land for a while’. I paused. ‘I would if it meant I wouldn’t lose my humanity and become rouge.’ I whispered my reply. She shrunk back and quietly shifted back to human. I snatched my underwear from the pile and got dressed quickly. The thin layer of sweat that covered my body make it a bit harder puling on my clothes. I grabbed my purse and dusted it off as I walked towards the city.             My shoes hit the pavement and I sighed in relief. They wouldn’t chase me out in public. I shifted my purse and started walking towards the hospital. I needed a shower and then to leave. It will be hard to not be seen as its barely past noon. I could always say I’m going for food and drop off the face of the world. I will need to sneak into Bettys place to remove my cash I’ve stored away.             I paused. I don’t hear any birds. Its quiet. Too quiet. There’s no way they’d follow me here, right? Doubt started to fill me and I started walking in a fast pace. I needed to go now. A howl pierced the air and I began running. I could see the emergency entrance just half a mile in front of me. My body ached in disapproval. I couldn’t run much more today, but I needed to. My lungs were about to explode as I ran threw the door. I locked them behind me. I took a few steps back, catching my breath. “Lizz?” I turned behind me to see a floor nurse standing behind the nurses station. Her face expressed concern an confusion. I raised my hand and shook my head. “There was this crazy guy following me. If someone asks for me, I’m not here.” She just nodded as I walked down to the staff lockers. The wooden door was heavy as I pushed it open. It squeaked and then slammed shut. I flopped against the cool wooden door; tears started flowing down my face. I let a quiet sob slip from my lips. I sniffed and wiped my face with both hands. I quickly went to my locker and pulled out my large gym bag. I could smell my perfume on it. I groaned. It must have leaked again. ‘It could help us!’ I paused. Luna was right. It would cover my scent a bit. I nodded as I hurried off to the showers. I stripped, throwing my clothes on the shower floor. I kicked them off the silver drain and started the shower. I grabbed my shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They all had scents to them. Good. I lathered up with way more than needed and scrubbed myself raw. The soap bubbles flowed down my body. I wanted to wash my scent away as much as possible.
