Time to Move on

Aurora The werewolf with the green eyes walked down the aisle of the bus and sat not far from me, just across the way. We held eye contact for several seconds before I looked away. This was the male wolf I saw on the train as I came into town. I was relieved that he was not with Jullian’s pack, but was it a coincidence that he was taking this bus, at this very moment? I picked up his scent, he did not smell like Jullian’s pack, but I felt he did belong to a pack. Rockbridge pack, maybe? I was close to their territory. I picked up my phone and tried paying him no attention. My stop was coming up and I debated if I should get off at a completely different stop or use my usual stop. My pulse quickened as we approached the bus stop. I suspected he could hear my heart racing. When the bus finally came to a stop and I did not move to get up, George, the bus driver, goddess bless his soul, thought he was doing me a favor. “Isn’t this your stop little lady?” George yelled at me, making me look up. I saw the male watching me, waiting to see what I did. His face was completely blank. ‘He’s beautiful.’ Mia chimed in my head. I have to agree, the male had golden blonde shoulder length hair with maybe the slightest strawberry blonde hue to it and pale green eyes. They seemed paler than I remembered, but I figured maybe it was his outfit. I know my hazel eyes change depending on the colors I wear. I forced a smile, “Yes, it is, thank you.” I got up and made my way down the aisle. Right after, I walked by the wolf, I cringed when I heard movement behind me. He was following me. “Have a good day little lady.” George called after me. “Thank you, George, have a good day.” I said, trying to make my voice sound like my usual chipper self, but I heard the nervousness and was sure the wolf behind me could hear it as well. I made my way off the bus and started walking down the sidewalk, trying to act nonchalantly as I passed others on the sidewalk. Seth’s condo was not far from a park, something that always bothered Mia, being so close to nature without being able to shift and go out for a run. I dreaded getting beyond the next group of people. I thought about cutting through the park. That way there would be more people around, then I heard him call my name. “Aurora.” I felt my muscles tighten but I did not stop or answer him. “Aurora.” He said again, slightly louder as I felt him quicken his pace to come up beside me. I let out a breath, I had not realized I had been holding, “What do you want?” I said quietly. I could almost feel his grin when he answered me, “We need to talk.” “I do not know you, nor do I have anything to talk to you about.” “Yes, we do, I need you to come with me.” That got me to stop in my tracks. “Seriously? I don’t know who you are. I am not in any violation, I’ve stayed out of the local packs territory. I am just living a peaceful existence, not bothering anyone.” The very good looking male stepped closer to me. “Is that what you think?” I tilted my head up to the taller male who had to be almost a foot taller than my 5’3, “Yes, and I could scream right now and draw attention to us, or run and make you chase me.” He leaned down closer to me and took a long, deep breath, taking in my scent, “Damn female, you smell good.” He whispered. “Go ahead, try to run but I will catch you and it will only make it harder on you. I can also get back up here in less than two minutes.” He stood back up straight, “Besides, you have entered my packs territory. That diner you work at, that corner stall in the ladies' room, that is technically in our territory. I believe the dumpster behind the building is as well, so surly you have stepped foot into our territory without permission." His grin deepened, "The train you take every few weeks goes right smack dab through our territory as well.” I put my hands on my hips, “Come on, the train? Really, isn’t that a bit of a stretch? You have to have dozens of wolves riding the train on any given day. Do you hunt them down too?” He just shrugged, “Nope, just you princess.” I turned and started walking again. As I turned, I saw the smugness on his face vanish as confusion took over, like he was not used to being ignored. He fell in line with me instantly. “Why?” I asked simply. My fear was taken over by curiosity. “My Alpha wishes to speak with you.” I smiled, “Ahh so you are just an errand boy.” I heard a manly chuckle, “Trust me, I am no errand boy.” “Tell your Alpha to come fetch me himself.” I stopped and turned towards the large attractive male. “My Alpha has business to tend to.” “Well, when he’s done, he can come find me.” I looked around for a second, "Clearly you know how to find me." I started to walk away again. I was so close to Seth’s. I know I was being naive to think if I could just reach the safety of Seth’s condo, I would be safe. “Come with me willingly and I will not call the DuPont’s and inform them of your whereabouts.” That got me to stop walking. I froze, just hearing the threat made my pulse quicken. “Fine, let’s go. I will talk with your Alpha.” “Let’s get your belongings first.” “What!” I swung around to face the male again. “You actually are in violation, living among humans, you should know better, you are the daughter of an Alpha, Princess.” I glared at him, “Don’t call me that.” I spat out. I could see a few people in the park watching, we were drawing attention, so I began walking towards the condo again. Once at the condo, I packed what stuff I had acquired, which wasn’t a lot. I knew some day I would have to pack up and go, so I did not buy much. I wrote Seth a long note, explaining my leaving to go back home and trying to assure him that I was safe so he would not worry. This other male sat in the side chair watching my every move. As I finished my note, I heard him speak, “You know, its not healthy to get so attached to humans.” This earned him another glare from me. “You know, I could fight you, might even get the better of you, it would give me enough time to run and get away from here before you could contact the DuPont’s and get them here.” I lied a little, for all I knew, the DuPont’s could be in the area. A thought suddenly hit me, he said he would not contact them, what if they were already within his territory? I finished signing the note and sat back. “You said you would not contact the DuPont’s if I went willingly. How do I not know if they are already waiting where you're taking me?” He gave me a big grin, “Guess you’ll have to take your chances.” He stood, “There is a car outside waiting for us.” “No!" I shook my head, "Promise me, promise me, I am not walking into a trap?” His face grew serious as his eyes searched mine for several seconds. He must have felt my desperation, “The Dupont’s are not in my territory, I am not sure if any of his men are close by, but my Alpha would not willingly help them.” I swallowed hard; I believed him, I somehow felt the truth of his words. I stood grabbing my bags, when the male surprised me by reaching to grab one from me. “By the way, the name is Mac.” I gave a brief nervous smile, then looked around at the place I had called home for the last five months. I would miss it along with Seth and his family. I wasn’t sure if I was making the right decision, but I could not refuse and chance Jullian being notified or dragging Seth and his family into my drama so I left to follow Mac out to the car.
