I tried not to be mad at Natalia, but it was hard, she should have known not to push it with Jullian with us.

Jullian pulled the car onto pack the territory, and I was not sure what we were about to face.

I was fully on guard, as was my wolf, Wren.

Natalia tried mind-linking me a couple of times and I told her I needed to think about our situation.

She apologized over and over until I blocked her out of my mind.

As soon as the car stopped, I exited and started my way towards the side entrance, planning on making a beeline to my suite.

“And where the h**l do you think you are going?” I heard Jullian growl out behind me.

I turned to face Jullian, who stalked towards me.

“What do you need?” I asked, letting my irritation show.

“Conference room, now.”

We held eye contact for several seconds before I began to make my way to the conference room.

I knew this was not going to be good.

I mind linked my father, Nate, and Brutus.

‘We are back and Jullian is bringing us to the conference room.’

‘Why?’ I heard from Nate first.

‘Apparently, Natalia has been sneaking off to the library when we go to town. Jullian caught her.’

‘S**t!’ Came from Brutus. ‘I’ll tell my father to meet us there.’

‘Did you know she was doing this?’ My father asked me point blank.

I couldn’t help but growl in frustration as I kept making my way towards the conference room.

‘I suspected she was sneaking away for a bit while I waited at the salon for her, but I was never sent to monitor her every move. She is sixteen, not a small child.’

‘You know what they will say?’

‘I know.’ I cut the mind link off as we neared the conference room. I didn't need a lecture right now.

He hadn’t specifically asked Natalia to come along but she did.

The conference room opened as we approached.

Alpha Nathanial was already standing there and started to move towards Natalia as soon as we walked in, but Jaques held his hand up to stop him.

“She is my daughter, do not stand in my way again.” Our Alpha growled.

Jaques gave him an unfriendly look.

“Right now, your daughter is a traitor.”

“Traitor? This is a small matter, it is a family matter, not even a pack matter.” Alpha Nathanial said, squaring off with Jaques.

Jaques paid no attention to Alpha Nathanial, which seemed to only add worry to Alpha Nathanial’s face.

Jaques turned towards Natalia and me.

“You have been contacting Aurora?” He asked, his face blank, giving off no emotion.

“That would be stupid, besides you took my phone and laptop, and…”

He cut her off by raising his hand to tell her to stop.

“You were sent with her to keep an eye on her, you let her go and contact Aurora and did nothing?” He addressed towards me.

I glanced at Natalia; I was angry with her, but I was also scared. I did not want to make matters worse for any of us.

‘Tren, what do I say?’ I asked my wolf, who only shrugged, ‘I am a wolf, I would jump at him and rip his throat out, so I am probably not the right one to ask.’

I stuffed my fear deep down and stood tall. “I am not Natalia’s keeper; I drive her and keep her safe. From what I saw, she went to the library and checked a book out."

I heard some commotion behind me and knew Nate, Brutus, Bernard, and my father had arrived.

I saw a smirk appear on Jaques Jacque's face.

‘What is he up to?’ I said to Tren.

Before Tren could respond, I felt someone grab me around my neck from behind, putting me in a head lock.

I growled and felt Tren surfacing as my hands began to shift, then I felt a pinch in my neck.

The feeling that came over me was odd. I felt Tren’s anger subside, but then I couldn’t feel Tren at all.

‘Tren?’

‘Tren?’

‘Tren, where are you? What happened?'

I felt a burning running through my body as the arm around my neck loosened.

I heard other voices yelling as I held my neck. I was confused and felt weak. I dropped to my knees, while still holding my neck.

I saw Jullian standing beside me and looked up, realizing that he was the one that had grabbed me.

“What did you do?” I asked softly amongst the commotion in the room.

The evil grin on his face said it all, my day was about to get way worse.
