When her favorite band comes to play at her home town she is not allowed to see them or talk to them. But at least working at the place they will play at had its perks.

Lyric Canton could hear them play. Lyric never expects to have a run in back stage with her heartthrob Morten Harket. To make matters even worse she passes out when she meets him face to face.

His full attention is on her. Her boss is not happy about all the attention Lyric is getting. And she needs to keep this job.

It seems Morten has eyes for Lyric. He confides in her that he will be in her hometown all summer while working on a new album! He also would like to date her over the summer while hes in the states.

But if she does date Morten, she could lose her job. And lose her heart with him at the end of the summer!!

Chapter 1
I loved working. Most of the time. I worked at a pretty great place. I worked at one of the biggest auditoriums there in LA! I cleaned up after everyone. But I loved it. Because no matter what concert was playing, I could enjoy it by working and hearing it for free. I got paid to work at concerts! I mean sure it was gross cleaning up vomit from drunks. Or sticky candy from the floor. But other than helping people and standing there watching over people you got to hear shows. Sometimes you would have to work late hours in the night. And traffic was awful when you were ready to go home. I did not mind working here at all. This week though I was pretty bummed because of the fact my favorite band of all time was going to be playing there. I could not afford tickets. And I had to work at the event. My friends were all attending. The eighties had been having such wonderful music from Madonna to Aerosmith. So many greats! Who was my favorite band?? Aha! With Morten Harket. I was not sure the name of the other singers. I mainly had a huge thing for Morten. But there was no way I was going to get to meet him while he was at the concert. I wish. My friend Daniella Hughes had tickets as well as backstage passes. And I could not be in on the fun. It was a bummer. I gave her some money to get me an autograph. I would be lucky if my roommate would remember to get that for me. I sigh as I put on my work uniform. I had on the shirt and black slacks. My hair was pulled up. I wore simple black shoes. I had to be there before everyone else was there. ♡♪♬♪♡ "Hi, have a good day at work" Daniella says as she comes in. I called her Elle for short. "Hey Ella, do not forget that autograph for me please!" I beg of her. She nods. "I won't! I wish you could some with us!" she pouts. She was wearing a florescent shirt with a jean jacket over the bright orange shirt. She had on a ton of bracelets. She had her bright blond curls pulled up on top of her head. "How do I look?" "Ready for a good time" I sigh wistfully. She hugs me. "One day your ship will come in. And you will never have to work again" she vows. She always gave me this speech when I was down. "And your prince charming will come right on time" "Alright mommy" I tease her. "No more fairy tales. I better get to work" ♡♪♬♪♡ She laughs. I grab my purse and my work badge then I am out the door so I could catch the bus. I did not have a car. I always rode the bus unless Ella could bring me to work. And that was not often. I was trying to save up enough money to buy myself a car. I had a driver's license and could not use it whatsoever. I get to the bus. I had no seat. I had to ride holding a rail strap. Then they drop me off by the building. I go rushing in. It was hotter then hell that day in LA. I was sure to be sweating bullets under my work shirt by the time I got there. When I went in the cool air felt so good on my sweaty body. I take a moment breathing in deeply. Then felt somewhat better. And ready for work. I go clock in. And I had to find out what Mr. Lynde wanted me to do for the afternoon before the concert started up. I hear music playing in the huge auditorium. My heart skips a beat. Was Morten here? Already? I walk all the way down to the stage. He was on stage with his band. He had on a white muscle tee shirt and blue jeans. Tight blue jeans. He wore tight black bracelets on right wrist. His hair was slicked back. He looks so hot. I could not help but stare at him. I notice how he cradled the mic in his hand as he crooned a tune. "Take Me On" My heart races faster. So this was what it was like being in the front row at a concert of a life time? His eyes suddenly meet mine. They lock in on me. A soft sexy smile crosses over his face. I am paralyzed to move now. Or even attempt to smile back at sexy Morten. He swayed back and forth to the time of the music. Enjoying the beat. I was enthralled by him. As were many girls my age. Here I was twenty years old and drooling worse than a teenage girl. His brown eyes were still zoomed in on me. I could not move another inch. Suddenly the band stops playing. ♡♪♬♪♡ "How did that sound Mort?" someone is asking him. The spell is broken. He turns and looks back. "That was perfect but can we go over it one more time please?" Morten requests. "Alright" they answer back. "Miss. Lyric? The toilet's in the lady's room have flooded. I need for you to clean the bathroom before the show begins" Mr. Lynde orders as he makes his way to my side. "Yes, sir sure thing" I reply. "No talking to the stars or bothering them. You know the rules around here Miss. Lyric" warns my boss. "Yes sir" I stammer. I go rushing out of there. I still feel a pair of eyes on me as I leave. Morten was watching. He gives me a little wave of his hand. A wave goodbye. I wished I could meet him tonight like my friends were going to be. Instead of cleaning the ladies' room. At least I could say I saw him. I saw my favorite singer. We locked eyes for a moment. Maybe he saw me. Maybe he did not. I was going to say he did. After all it was my moment. With Morten. The only one I was ever going to get. The night had just begun. It was not over with yet. ♡♪♬♪♡♪♬♪♡♪♬♪♡♪♬♪♡
