I had finally managed to find an old couple to rent my house. I knew they would take care of it. I had mixed feelings, though. I was delighted that all of my friends, my second family, as I used to call them, would follow me to California and my pack.
I was longing to see my parents. I missed them incredibly. My only concern was whether I could handle a messy situation. That's when I thought of Axel and the words my mom told me. Why would he want to stand by me?
