The weeks had flown by, the packs training coming to an end as they were now able to protect them selves from attacks. Ash had asked me to consider staying along with my pack, we couldn’t deny that we wanted to stay, but there was the problem of us having to leave the court. Never in the history of the court had a pack resigned, and we did not know how they would react if we did.

“ ok so, we just need to come to a vote, if you don’t want to stay or if you wish to stay without the rest of the pack that is your choice!” Dra seems back to his normal self the court had taken a toll on him and he wanted to stay here, he wants the whole pack to stay with him but he will not instruct them to do so. “Now with that in mind it’s time to make a decision each of you has the right to speak and do whatever you feel is best for you.”

“ If your staying so am I, not leaving the pack for anything!” Sam seems hurt but nods understandingly and walks to stand by Dra. Not even a moment later Blake, Nila, Sebastian, and myself are standing by him ready to stay. But the others have looks on there faces and without speaking, turn for the door to go. They made the choice, we can’t force them but there welcome back at any time they please. “ well I guess that’s that, sorry Dra but on the bright side you still have all of your original pack. And who knows they might just come back someday.” Looking at Dra he doesn’t look upset at all he’s happy to be free. He hasn’t looked like this in years, so we go to tell Ash that we have chosen to stay. He’s extatic jumping around like a kid on Christmas, before coming over and leaving a kiss on my laughing lips.

“ eeew goose guys, pda there’s kids here.” Chance is just joking but Ash pulls away from me with blush creeping up his face. “ yo I was just kidding no need to get embericed, man you look like a tomato right now.” Laughter breaks out from all around him and I can’t help but join in knowing that he will eventually laugh with us.

Times are happy with the pack everything has been quite for a while it’s been a month since we officially joined the pack, and tonight is date night for Ash and I. He asked me to meet him in the back yard at eight for dinner and a beautiful night under the stars. When I step into the yard there is a blanket laying on the ground with food and wine set up on top of it. It’s cute and romantic and Ash looks perfect just sitting there waiting for me to join him, the light of the moon outlining his form. “ Wow, midnight you look absolutely stunning in that.” He seas pointing to the dress that comes midway down my thighs hugging tightly to my body, city it’s course back, and straps that hang off the shoulders. I sit down with him crossing my arms over my chest.

“ I look good in anything.” I say jutting my lip out in a fake pout so he’ll come closer and hold me. He obliged more than willing to make contact with me, leaning his head down to kiss me gently, giving in almost instantly I kiss him back letting my hands travel up to grab his hair, pulling him down with me as I lean back. When we end the kiss he hands me a glass of wine, and some of the cute little cupcake snacks that are set up. Licking some of the frosting off of the cupcake in my hand I feel something cold and hard hit my tongue, I look down certain that there’s something there when I see it. It’s a shiny gold band lined with Ruby’s. My jaw drops in shock, Ash reaches over taking the cupcake from my hand and pulling me to my feet, he gets on one knee in front of me having taken the ring out of the frosting and cleaned it, he looks up at me with love and takes my hand.

“ Midnight Renee Star, I was a fool when we were younger, and I regretted it for so long. I was honestly lost without you here, and I don’t ever want to feel that again, I don’t want to loose you. So I’m promising you right now that if you say yes and marry me I will never leave your side, and you will be my equal. So will you please marry me?” His face is light with a brilliant smile stretching over his whole face, I’m at a lose for words. I manage to clear my head enough to start nodding and crying happy tears. He jumps up off the ground hugging me and sliding the ring on my finger before spinning me in tight circles and yelling over his shoulder to the house. “ She said yes, you can all come out now!”

we’re bombarded by a group hug from my pack, my family the people that matter the most to me, and my tears have stoped I’m just starting at Ash. “They were in on this? And not a single one of them let us slip.” I’m looking around glaring at all of them, when all the joy leaves me. Looking over my shoulder I see someone watching us. Not just one person, but a very large group of people. I don’t even have time to get everyone to look before the people charge us, they have silver knives and whips. Some even have guns in there waistbands. I don’t have time to shift before one of them grabs me around the neck turning me around into a choke hold putting the cold barrel of his gun to my head. I know the man, but for some reason I can’t put a name to his face. Out of nowhere I see the three members of our pack that left to go back to the court.

“Sorry to bust up the fun, but we have orders from the court to take her back dead or alive. And if we have to we will kill you all starting with her, so I suggest you don’t fight and you just let us leave with her!” God I know that face and voice but it still won’t come to me, everyone has backed off knowing the threat is true. Dra looks like he’s seeing a god damn ghost and that’s when it hits me this man, it can’t be he died before we came here, we watched them burry him. To make sure I won’t fight back they wrap silver chains around me, scorching my skin, I can smell my burning flesh before I look down to see my dress is getting covered in blood, before someone I don’t recognize walks up to me placing a blindfold over my eyes and punching me in the stomach for good measure. I crumple to the ground without a sound leaving my lips, craving one last look at my family. Before I even know what’s happening I hear a gun go off, feeling the bullet enter my thigh. s**t, s**t, s**t someone must have tried something I can feel that the bullet went clean through.

As I’m hefted off the ground, and onto someone’s shoulders I can hear my family starting to give up. “DONT GIVE UP ILL FIND A WAY OUT OF THIS, I promise I love you all.” I know exactly what’s happening as my stomach churns and the scents around me change. They must have had a witch with them to get them back to the court without problem. I’m thrown to the ground and kicked a few times before the chains are taken off of me. My blindfold is removed, and there in front of me is the leader of the court. Alec Blackwood, looking down at me.

“There were no problems, I hope.” He seas looking from person to person. “You should have had full control of the pack just by having her in harms way.” They all nod, and bow before leaving he room, he looks at me with a twisted smile as he approaches, pulling me to my feet before speaking again. “My dear you look like you have had a rough evening, come chat for a while with me.” He’s not asking me to he’s threatening me. Before I can comprehend the consequences I open my mouth to speak.

“NO! I will not chat with you I am not part of the court anymore so what do you want from me. You are despicable sending an army of men to bring me here on the night I get engaged.” I’m shocked that I spoke to him that way, I’ve never been that careless with my words. I don’t regret it tho, not until his hand moves and slaps me across the mouth. Gritting my teeth I spit my blood out into his face. His smile widening with my defiance towards him.

“Well I see we will be doing this the fun way, Balthazar would you bring me the syringe and camera. I would like very much to have this beasts torture added to my collection.” That being said a an average man walks into the room laying the objects that were asked for on the table next to us. I know him he’s a member of Ashes pack, oh my god there was an informant there the whole time, how did we not notice him.
