CHAPTER 14

Amelia’s POV: Alexa was about to slap me when someone grabbed to arm to stop her. We turn to see Quiel, followed by Nathan and the whole basketball team. “Stop this s**t Alexa.” Quiel said as he let go of her arm. “You are acting like a lunatic?” He said. “So, you are siding with her?” Alexa asked but Quiel didn’t answer. “I thought I know you better.” She said then looked at me. “This is your entire FAULT.” Why the hell is everything my fault? What did I do to them? More asked question is what did I do to Alexa? “Stop it Alexa.” Quiel said. “We both know that it not her fault. She is here to learn and she is here because of the scholarship your dad gave her.” Another fact that you might not know about is that Alexa’s dad own the school. Alexa’s parents were known businessmen in the country and in this school is just nothing to them. So, I guess that answers my question. “You know how much I despised people like her.” Alexa said. Alexa and Quiel know each other since they were kids. I actually thought that they were a couple but they are not. Maybe Alexa has a thing for Quiel and Quiel probably don’t know about it. It’s just a guest anyway. “People like her don’t belong here.” Alexa said. I totally get it. You don’t have to keep on repeating it. “Her kinds are trash, garbage, user and home wrecker. We are not rich; people like us may live dirty small places but we are not User? Did she also say home wrecker? I’m not a home wrecker. What is she saying? “Huh?” I asked with a confused look. “What are you saying?” Alexa didn’t answer. She just told her minions to follow her and the three of them left. “Are you okay?” Quiel asked as he turns to me and I gave me a nod. “Listen up!” Quiel yelled for the whole cafeteria to hear. “Nobody messes with Amelia. If I saw or hear that you mess with her, you’re dead meat. Plus, I don’t want any of you talking about it. Do you understand?” Shocking and Awkward Silence…………………….. And, there you have an awkward silence. No kidding. People were shocked, including me. After the Alexa’s and Quiel’s argument and after Quiel made the announcement, he is still cool like nothing happen and left with Nathan and the basketball team just like that. “What just happen?” Madi asked who is still in shock. “Beats me,” I answered back, matching her state of shock. Today is something that I would never ever forget. What will happen tomorrow? Today just freaks me out. By the way the school has two cafeterias; the student’s cafeteria and the teacher’s lounge. As with their name, the student cafeteria is exclusive for students while the teacher’s lounges is for teachers only. So, whatever happens to our cafeteria, it’s none of their business. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I suddenly woke up from a scream. Grandma, I thought to myself as I panic and went downstairs. “Grandma” I yelled but no answer “Grandma” I yelled again and still no still answer. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! There’s another scream. It came from the living room and it Aunt Paula. “Aunt Paula, Grandma,” I yelled ran towards the living room. “What the hell is going on?” I asked as I went to the living room and what a surprise, I saw Aunt Paula, Grandma and Nathan. What is he doing here? “Nathan,” I said, surprised. “What are doing here?” Aunt Paula seems to have a fan girl moment. “Amelia, you did tell me that you have a handsome friend.” She said. To be honest, I never thought he would consider me as a friend. “What are you doing here?” I asked, still in shocked. “Just dropping by” Nathan answered. I looked at the clock, 7:30pm. I must have fallen asleep earlier. “Dropping by at night?” I asked, this time with a confused looked. “He helped me earlier.” Grandma said as she pop out of nowhere, holding a tray of cake and a glass of juice. “He helped you?” I asked grandma. “I went to the market and-“. She wasn’t able to finish her sentence because I cut her. “Hold up there, you went to the market without me?” I asked with a bit of frustration and my grandma nodded. Grandma and I had an agreement to never leave the without me because of her age. Although the market is a 5 minute walk from our house, still, she couldn’t leave the house with me. What if something happen to her? “Grandma we have an agreement that you must have a companion every time you go. What if something happen to you?” I said. “I saw you sleeping.” She said. “You could have waked me up or you could have asked Aunt Paula to come with you.” I defended. “You look so tired, I didn’t want to disturb you and your Aunt Paula is busy as well.” She explained. “Just promise me that it will never happen again. Promise me that whatever I’m doing, sleeping, chores or even homework, I will go with you.” I said and she nodded. “I will dear. I’m sorry.” My grandma said and I gave her a hug. “Sorry about that Nathan but I wanted to thank you for helping my grandma out.” I smiled as I looked at Nathan. “Don’t mention it.” Nathan said as he took a bite on his cake. “Yum, this cake is delicious.” “Amelia baked that.” Aunt Paula said, still on a fan girl mode. “By the way, are you single?” grandma asked. “Grandma” I said as I looked at her with an “are you crazy look” but I guess she didn’t get it. “What? You’re single.” She said. Yup! She totally didn’t get that. Thank you grandma for letting me remember that I’m single. “What are you saying grandma.” Aunt Paula said. “With that handsome face and a good body, there is no way that he is single.” Still on the fan girl mode Aunt Paula, who could blame her? Madi is 100 times fan girl mode that her. “Actually, I’m very much single.” Nathan smiled. That’s a new fact for me. Better note to myself to tell Madi about this. “Really,” Aunt Paula asked as she looked shocked. “You’re single?” She asked again and Nathan nodded. “Oh my gosh Amelia, He is single and you’re single. I smell something here.” Aunt Paula said with a teasing look. “Yeah, I smell something too.” Grandma said as she looked at Aunt Paula. “You’re cooking.” Aunt Paula suddenly that she was indeed cooking and immediately excuse herself and fix dinner. “Nathan, why don’t you stay here for dinner?” Grandma offered. “It’s the least I can do for helping me out.” Nathan looked at grandma then looked at me. I think he was just waiting for my approval. He did help my grandma thought and at the same time, he consider me as a friend plus, I can learn new facts about him so why not. “Would you please stay for dinner? I smiled and he nodded. “I’d loved to stay for dinner.” Nathan smiled.
