Chapter One
With an other deadly blow to the spine, he quivered. The pressure of a million boulders come crashing onto his skull. He winced at the continuous pain. He laid conscious in the snow wondering what in the seven seas attacked him. When all seemed to be over, he rose slowly, ignoring the sharp pain amongst his spine.
When he saw it, it wasn't fear who captured him. It was pure admiration. Never in his centuries of life and death would he have ever imagined seeing such a creature. The great myth of The Eternal Snow Goddess was true. There she stood, sparkling with the most exquisite ice crystals over her bloomed body. Her eyes glowed with the power of a raged blizzard. All his life he have never been solely attached to any type of female, not even through love potions, but this magnificent being froze him on the spot, literally.
Before he realized he was being sealed with unbreakable ice, she already started to disappear, fleeing to whatever world she came from. He felt himself fighting to be free, but the ice was already ascending to his neck. Before being completely concealed, he sucked in a lung full of air. With a heavy thud, he sank beneath the ice. What have Drogon The Dark done this time to summon the Goddess Of Frozen Immortality.
"He's late again" `~~~` "He is a man of great responsibility Liya, including us. Give him a break", the second sister proclaimed. Demarca, Drogons half twin. It was said that they were conceived together but Drogon was born three moons earlier. The powerful wizards of the north claimed that this was a sign from the Fallen Fathers, which either meant peace or great suffering. "I don't know Dem, something does not feel right this time. I can't feel his energy anymore", Liya placed the plates on the table. "I know, I felt the disconnection as well". ~~~ "We can't lose him like mother and father,... If he doesn't come back". ~~~ "If he doesn't come back we'll go find him", Demarca soothed. "I promise".
"My lord, the traitor have been captured", he bowed. "Bring him to me!", the new king demanded. The guards dragged in an ill looking man. He groaned from the open wounds carved all over his body. "So. You are the one slandering my name over these lands", the king leaned. "I only seek the truth my lord", the poor man proclaimed in a frightened tone. "The truth! You want the truth. I am the true king! Any man who dear question my reign will follow your unfortunate fate." ~~~" You are to be burned alive for your sin. Hang him to the entrance of the castle as a lesson to those who dear challenge me." ~~~ "Be gone with this fool". "My lord", the guards fled to the mortal kings command.
"My lord, son of Merlin has arrived."~~~ "Bring him in, and send some wenches in with wine and meat." The guard left the kings chamber. A few minutes later. "Zefus !", they hugged. "You look well", the king smiled with his wine stained teeth showing. "I wish I could say the same Roman. It doesn't seem like you've been getting much rest.", Zefus smiled moderately. "Can't say that I have." The maids came in with filled plates of freshly prepared meat and a mid barrel of red wine. The new king sat on his chair while Zefus gazed outside the dusty window. "How was the journey from Asvak? You arrived five days later than expected." ~~~" Well you see, I'm an adventurous man. We huddled up at a few towns on the way, quenching our unholy thirst.
"Ah , this explains the golden glow upon your face.", the king laughed heartedly. "Humping wenches all over? Beautiful Yanifa would have your head." ~~~ "Beautiful Yanifa is where she's destined to be". The mood transformed to one of anger and sorrow. "You aren't suppose to be wearing that crown Roman, nor is the king suppose to be dead", at list not yet he thought. The words escaped swift and deadly. Roman stayed seated. "The king had began to suspect me", he said steadily. "I needed to act immediately." ~~~ "Did my brother beg for his life?", Zefus asked softly still staring out the window. "I slayed him at his rest." Zefus spun around furiously. His dark eyes piercing into Romans. "An honorable man never slays a man at his rest! Never, not even for his worse crimes." "What of his wife and child? Amilia what of Amilia!"
Zefus approached Roman with the rage of a shattered God. Roman removed the crown then, realizing what power had led him to. "You are not of sound mind to be near this crown", Zefus roared. With the strength of a warrior he held his tears. Zefus and Zous were enemies due to their pass but Zefus grew fond of his dear niece Amilia. "The coronation is in three weeks time. After this, you leave Norzad for good. Roman sat as troubled as the lost soul he was.
Everyone in the City Of Norzad was pleased that Zefus would become their king. They showered him with warm words, pleasant smiles and desperate pleas. After the passing of the crown, king Zefus and Roman spoke their last words. " The time has come for us to part again", he held his hand. In less than two moon cycles, eleven citizens had been tortured and killed by Romans order. A true mad king.
"There's a cottage about ten miles before the next city. You get a chance to start a new life. I will send a few of the guards to ensure your safe arrival."~~~ "Why are you doing this? I deserve to be hanged", Roman spoke quietly. " You may have lost your way but you are still", he stopped. "Go now, the rain is on the mourn." Roman left. The horses jolted away, racing to the thunders roar.
Roman turned one last time to see Zefus's fading figure. In all his years of slaughtering, torturing and violating, he never felt guilt nor shame and here today, he wished he could have taken everything back just to please his father. The Rogue one was no more.
"Eridesa! Hurry, they need to be in before it rains." ~~~ "I'm trying", she yelled. After long minutes of struggles, she finally had all the cattle inside the stable. She retreated into the cottage with fear that the heavens were about to drown her. Everyone else were already indoors. Each cottage glowed brightly from their candle light. In this village, no one was wealthy. Some had more than others but no one ever starved or went thirsty. Every one shared their produce. "Come now Eridesa, the soup is best when its hot." She sat down quietly near her younger brother. "It's very good mama", he smiled. She patted his head and continued placing the loaves on the oak table.
"Aquadius, the kings men are approaching." They flew pass the village like lightning itself. "Where are they headed under this kind of weather", she spied. "Malia!", Aquadius called out. "Get away from the window." She sat down calmly, not questioning her husbands words.
Aquadius was a fallen night. He was ordered by king Zous a long time ago, to punish a young woman for constantly stealing food from the castle. He was the first person to ever disobey an order under zous's command. For this he was not executed but unknighted and banished from the city of Norzad. It broke the kings heart to send away his most loyal knight and friend, but he didn't want to be seen as weak. Aquadius made a way for himself in this village. Protecting and helping the people of Rokspare, by his side, the love of his life, Malia Argon.
