Chapter 11

Ava

*phone rings*

"Hi". I hear Jamie speak.

"Hey! how was the meeting with coach?"

"It was ok, pretty much him planning out our schedules". He chuckled.

"Cool! so what's up? You got bored?" I asked mockingly.

He just groaned and then sighed before telling me "yes".

"Why didn't you just go to the party?"

"Why does everyone keep asking me that? I don't want to be anywhere near that girl". He practically yelled out.

"Geez! I get It, ok? calm down. So what do you want to do, play a game?"

"Nahh, I already did that. What do you want to do?"

"Basically eat and watch a movie". I said while stuffing myself with chips.

"Can I join you?" He asked

"Well it's late out, except you want us to video chat while watching?"

"That's cool, I'll just go get myself snacks". He said before I heard him walking farther away from his phone.

I just ended the call and got more snacks for myself before heading to my room. I made myself comfy and got the movie playing. Soon enough my phone rang again and I answered it.

"So what movie?" He asked.

I shushed him before saying my "little pony." which earned me a groan while I giggled.

I paused the movie and faced my phone to my face.

"Got a problem Jamie?" I teased

"Yeah! a big one actually. We've watched this before!" He pointed out while I just nodded.

"I'm watching it for the songs. They're so nice. Open up your eyes~". I sang a snippet as he just watched and shook his head while fighting off some smiles. He eventually gave up trying to change my mind and watched with me.

At some point he started singing and I took a screen recording, silently promising myself to use this to embarrass him someday.

The movie ended and I took my phone from the books I propped it on, only to see a sleepy Jamie. I bid him a goodnight and got to cleaning up my room before brushing my teeth, having a shower and praying before I slept.

30minutes into the movie and another song is playing, Ava is singing and I'm already over it. I just eat some more snacks and pay attention to the movie.

That musical number ends and another one comes up again in like 20minutes but this time, I join in and we sing along and laugh.

I see her fiddle the phone and can only hope she isn't screen recording. She then leans the phone back on the stack of books she leaned it on before.

We watch the movie silently until her fav number begins to play and she starts to sing. I couldn't see her, but I could feel how much she loved this song and soon I got sucked in by her sweet voice.

I was conscious for about 10minutes more before being lulled to sleep.

I woke up just in time for the final song

"Thank God ". I thought and fought sleep to watch the end credits with her.

She took her phone and eyed me mockingly before telling goodnight and ending the call.

I smiled to myself satisfied about a night well spent before I officially crashed.
