Jamie
The discussion about the girls might have ended, but my mind is still on it. Am I that close to them? Is it that serious? Do I behave like their dad or big brother? or maybe even boyfriend? That's what friends are like to eachother right? right?
Why am I so bothered? We are just friends. Nothing more.
"Bro! your brain is heating up the place". Nate spoke up.
"Huh?"
"We've been talking for a while and you haven't said anything". Ivan concurred.
"Oh! I guess it's cause I was focused on driving".
"Yeah! More like focused on the girls". Ivan teased.
"Yeah! Especially Ava~". Nate sang.
"What?! come on guys Ava is like my sister. Nate I didn't even expect this from you...maybe Ivan but not you. come on".
"Don't try to wriggle yourself out of it, you know deep down it's true. You are just trying to convince yourself that you both are adopted siblings". Nate barked out.
"What makes you think so?"
"Well for one, you over reacted when Nate mentioned Ava but didn't when I said "the girls". Also you trying to explain yourself alot when there's no need to, and you are asking questions to try to prove that you don't have feelings for any of them". Ivan lectured.
I rolled my eyes."Thanks therapist Ivan". They both chuckled and said said it was all jokes, but I just can't shake the feeling that I've been caught redhanded.
I chuckled along with them to get my mind off it all and soon we were pulling up to Ivan's place. We dropped him off and waved him goodbye before Nate and I headed for our own street.
"Finally home!" I said while unbuckling the seatbelt. Nate just yawned and unbuckled his too before opening the door and heading out.
"Hi there sweetie, Nate. How was school today?" Mom chirped.
"School was good mum. How was work?" I said while rummaging through the fridge along side Nate.
"I was all good. I left the shop to the girls today, wanted to see you when you got back". She said whilst organizing the kitchen surfaces. "Oh! there are some snacks in the microwave, help yourselves".
"Thanks Aunt Maddie, you are the best and will forever be". Nate praised once he saw the homemade chocolate cookies in the microwave. "I'm glad you got off work early today, now you can go rest. Jamie here and I will handle rest. Have a nice nap Auntie". He said so sweetly.
Mom just laughed at him and said "You've always been a sucker for sweets" before she waved us a "bye" and headed upstairs to her room.
15minutes later.
"I'm off dude". Nate announced.
"Not before you clean up I hope". I eyed him up and down.
"Yeah sure, I almost forgot". He grinned sheepishly.
"hmm...ok". I said knowing he wanted to leave it all for me to clean by myself.
"hmmmm". He hummed
"hmmmmmmm". He hummed again
"hmmmmmmmmm". And again
"I'm seriously beginning to think you and Ivan swapped bodies cause you aren't behaving like yourself". I pointed out.
"I'm just bored and the party doesn't start until 6pm. This is just 3:25".
"Why are you itching to go there?" I barked out while laughing.
"I spent the whole holiday at home and you went on a trip. So definitely you don't have the need to leave your house cause you left it recently". He grinded out.
"Awñ! did someone miss me, it sure looks like it". I taunted. "There nothing much we can do though, except wait. Just while away time, maybe watch a movie or play a game".
"Well then,Call of Duty here I come". He called out in happiness before grabbing me and leading me to the tv.
Hours passed and it was time for Nate to go home. He packed his stuff and was heading outside.
"So what activity have you decided to do since the party is a no no?" He asked suddenly but was obviously taunting me.
"I don't know yet, i guess I'll talk to the girls. I haven't told them I'm home yet".
He didn't say much. He just smiled rather smirked, turned on his heel and gave me a two finger salute with his back turned to me.
"Bye".
"Bye".
