Chapter 17 That Which Was Not Talon started the day as soon as he got back to camp. It was still mostly dark, but the horses he had were mustangs. They would be okay till daylight. He needed to get as much distance as possible between him and the posse. The work he had done in their camp had been risky. If he hadn’t been desperate he would not have tried it. He hoped it had worked. They would not be wise to follow now. The only ammunition he thought they had was the one round he left in camp.
