Rabbit in a Trap
When Talon woke up, a small red fox had wandered into his camp. It was sitting with its head c****d a little watching him sleep. He wasn’t surprised, he had seen fox do things like that before. The young ones were almost fearless at times. Talon smiled and sat up. When he did, the little fox moved off into the brush and disappeared.
First light was just starting to creep over the tops of the mountains that the canyon ran through. It would soon be where he was. Morning had come later than he wished. Heavy dark clouds overhung the sky and humidity was heavy in the air.
Looking around, he spotted his horses. They were looking for more grass along the stream and on the sides of the canyon. He sat by his bedroll and listened. Nothing out of the ordinary fell to h
