After a desperate dash through the forest, Jen, exhausted and hopeless, surrendered to her fate. Surrounded by ruthless assassins, she knelt down, closed her eyes, and prepared for the worst.

Just as all seemed lost, a mysterious figure emerged from the shadows, dispatching the assassins with ease. Jen's life was saved, and in gratitude, she pledged to serve her enigmatic rescuer as her master for the rest of her life.

As time passed, Master taught Jen to harness her hidden powers. Although he is usually cold, she began falling for him.

Prologue
In the heart of the Shadowwood, near the kingdom of Vylonia, a girl in her early twenties walked alone. Her deep blue eyes sparkled beneath thick, shaped eyebrows, and her perfectly carved nose complemented lips shaped like a heart. Her long, dark curly hair was tied up into a bun, revealing a heart-shaped birthmark behind her left ear. Her name was Jennifer, but her family call her Jen. She is the last daughter of King Ryker. Her two sisters were both married and lives in another kingdom they got married into. She was the only one of her three daughters to possess supernatural powers, a secret known only to her, her late grandmother, and her parents. They kept it hidden, fearing attacks from people who saw powers as abnormal and cursed. In Vylonia, few people possessed powers, and those who did were either punished by death or banished from the kingdom. Although King Ryker, the fifth king, opposed this practice and believed powers were a blessing, his people remained unconvinced. When he discovered Jen's abilities at the age of twelve, he kept her secret. Jen often visited the forest to meditate and cultivate her powers, following her grandmother's advice. She found a quiet spot with only the sounds of nature, allowing her to concentrate. With the help of a book given by her grandmother, she made small breakthroughs over the years. Her cheetah spirit animal granted her super speed for short periods and the ability to sense danger. Although unlocking these features was challenging, Jen remained determined to push beyond her limits.
