Full moon shift

1987 Words
“You did the right thing. Better now than later. You know why, you were told why. He has to leave" Katherine stood behind the Alpha's chair, relieving pressure from his shoulders.  “Yeah I know. Now where's Noah? He should have been here hours ago, the full moon is almost here" Said the Alpha “I think he's still with Emma."  “I understand wanting to spend time with her....but she shouldn't become a distraction. This is the time we need him to be more focused"  “He will be. But this is gonna be his future Luna. Let him get to know her" Katherine pushed  “He's known her since childhood. What else does he want to know?!" The Alpha argued  “Let them be for now" Said Katherine  *** Emma took a few deep breaths before alighting front the vehicle. The moon was fully out and for some reason, she was feeling nervous. Not because it was full moon and she was about to shift, but because she wasn't about to shift in front of Noah, the man she loved and for some reason she doesn't understand, it made her nervous. She shut the car door and continued down across the road where Noah was waiting for her. “Hi!" She greeted, forcing a smile. Noah cleared his throat, moved closer to her and grabbed her hands in his, which made her pretty confused. “Now just relax. There's nothing to be nervous about" He said to her calmly. “Nervous...." She scoffed “Nah..I'm...I'm not nervous...." She stuttered  “Emma, the emotion is so strong that I can practically touch it. Don't forget the moon is fully out. Which means everything is heightened" Said Noah Emma exhaled sharply, partially rolling her eyes in defeat “Okay I'm a bit nervous. I don't know why I am though"  “Well once you're fully shifted, trust me, that's all gonna go away. Now why don't we begin?! The night isn't gonna last long" He smiled warmly at her as she nodded in agreement. *** Liam gasped awake, sitting up abruptly. He was panting for some reason he knew nothing about. He looked around him and was shocked at where he was. “What the hell am I doing in woods? How did I get here?' he asked himself whilst shooting up to his feet. He looked at the sky and spotted the bright and fully round moon and he's confusion grew more. “What the..." He trailed off, reaching for his phone..as far as he knew, the full moon isn't supposed to be out until the next day. He unlocked his phone which only had little charge left. He checked the time and date and realized he had missed a whole day. “Wait....that doesn't make any sense" his brows furrowed with confusion. “How can I have spent 24 hours passed out in the woods?"  Liam dusted off the dirt on his clothes, whilst trying to think of any possible reason why that happened? It was more confusing because the last thing he remembered was him trying to hit the brakes of his car. So how did he end up in the woods, away from his car which wasn't in sight. “f**k" he cursed when it dawned on him that it was full moon and the woods isn't safe for him at that time, being that he was human. He checked his phone for signal, but there was nothing. He sighed with fraustration, tucked his phone into his pocket and began heading out of the woods hurriedly. *** Noah checked his watch over and over again, waiting for Emma to come back from where she went. He had seen her naked a different number of times, so he didn't understand why she felt the need to shift in private. He felt he had no choice but to respect her decision. He heard a low growl coming from behind him and knew immediately it was Emma. He would recognize that scent anywhere. She was the only wolf he knew who had that flowery scent. It smelled like a combination of Lilac and Lillies.  Noah turn to look at her and was immediately amazed by what he saw. There she was standing on all fours in her wolf form. Her golden brown and white color, glowing under the moon and her blue eyes shone bright, showing her innocence. He moved closer to her, bent down in front of her and just when he was about to feel her with his hand, she growled softly and zoomed off past him. Noah stood up, watching her run into the woods. He laughed, knowing she wanted him to chase after her, a challenge he was all to willing to take. It will be better to start practicing for the Claiming anyway. He quickly took off his clothes and then dropped to his knees when his bones began breaking. He groaned in pain, listening to the sounds of his bones reshaping, his joints dislocating and taking a new shape. His fangs making its way out, his claws protruding out his fingers and his spine twisting. He growled loudly and in no time, he was fully shifted, giving his wolf freedom and more control of his body. His black and white fur shook in waves in reaction to him vibrating his body. He howled looking up at the moon and when he was done, he turned toward the direction Emma ran to. He gained momentum and dashed toward the direction. He was few metres into his chase when he caught the scent of another wolf around. Just as he stopped to investigate, he heard a loud angry growl, followed by him getting tackled swiftly. Both wolves toppled for a few moments before Noah pushed the wolf off of him and quickly jumped to his feet, regaining his balance same time as his attacker.  He stared at the yellow eyes of the black wolf. He got some strong emotions from the wolf. Which was just anger and hate. The wolf began growling as they stood in a face off. Noah planted his claws into the earth, waiting for the wolf to make it's first move. *** Liam tucked his hands into the pockets of his jacket. It was cold and it seemed like it was getting colder still. He kept on walking, hoping to come out of the woods soon. He had no idea where his car was. There were no tire marks around and it made him wonder how far he was in the woods and how he came all that way.  A loud and sudden rustle of leaves, brought him back to reality which made him listen Intently, paying more attention to his surrounding. He brought out his phone and made it another source of light for him to navigate his way in the dark and then came the rustle sound again. He stopped Instantly and began looking around him with his phone's flashlight. The rustle started again and this time it wasn't stopping. It was getting louder to where he was, which kept him on his toes, his heart racing at that moment. He kept on turning on the spot he was standing, searching with his light. His light shone past what seemed like a yellow pair of eyes few metres from where he was standing. He adjusted the flashlight back to where he noticed it and there it was. He steadied the light on the pair of eyes, not knowing whose it was. If it was a member of his father's pack or a rival pack. He stood planted to the earth, wondering what the hell to do. He doesn't want to spook the wolf or anything. The wolf growled, stepping out little by little. “s**t! That doesn't sound like a friendly growl" he said to himself and just then the wolf growled loudly and angrily. Liam's heart jumped at the suddenness of this and his heart was threatening to rip out of his chest. Without thinking twice about it, he bolted, running as fast as his feet could take him, faster than he had ever ran before. He kept on hearing the growl behind him as though he wasn't putting some distance between them which led him to believe he was being chased by the wolf. In no time he was panting, sweating, even though it was a cold night. He had no idea which direction he was now running towards but he needed to put some distance between him and the wolf who was out to get him. *** Emma stopped and then turned facing the direction she was coming from. There was no sign of Noah and she couldn't catch his Scent either. She looked around, feeling like something was wrong. He was supposed to have caught up with her already, seeing that she hadn't been running fast on purpose. She began running back to where she was coming from, all the while hoping nothing bad had happened. *** Noah growled in pain as his attacker's fangs sank into his hand. He tried to wriggle free but it was proving to be impossible. He quickly twisted and sank his fangs in return into the rib of his attacker, biting harder than he was taking. And as soon as the wolf yelped in pain, releasing his fangs from his hand, Noah quickly struck it's face, scratching some marks across it's eye.  Angered by this, the wolf dashed at Noah, tackling him and pinning him to the ground. Noah struggled, twisting and turning, trying to break free from the lock he was in but his attacker was doing everything to keep him there whilst scratching him with it's claws too.  Not knowing what else to do to break free and it wasn't helping either that his attacker was dodging every of his attack from above him. Noah thought this was going to end badly tonight until he caught the familiar scent and his hope came back.  Before the wolf could catch on, Emma jumped out from nowhere and bodied the wolf off of Noah, sending it rolling on the ground. Noah shot up to his feet, standing beside Emma who was fiercely growling at their attacker.  The wolf got up and on seeing another wolf with Noah, he knew he didn't stand a chance and he quickly bolted. Noah thought it best not to go after him. He shifted his gaze back to Emma. He was amazed by the sight. Her fiercely defending him was a sight that increased his love for her and that proved to him she truly does love him.  *** Liam was drenched in sweat as he continued running non-stop. He hadn't heard the growl behind but he could hear rustling and he wasn't willing to risk the chance of having to stop and then realizing he wasn't in the clear.  He was panting heavily. His eyes lit up with hope when he heard a car honking and engine revving. He knew he was coming out to the highway. Hope was once restored in him but something crossed his mind. ‘How was he outrunning a wolf? If the wolf really wanted to get him, it would have caught up with him by then' he thought. He concluded maybe it wanted to scare him. He ran out into the highway and heard a loud honk from a car who swiftly turned, barely avoiding running him over. He had almost died twice in one night. By a wolf and now by a car. He uttered a deep sigh of relief when he turned and there was no sign of the wolf. He bent down at the middle of the road, rubbing his face and running his fingers through his hair as he tried to figure out what the hell happened to him.
