THE YEAR I TURNED TWENTY TILL I DIE

Gift is a name given by her parents but this name has more significant to her more than her other names because her being a twin ,her twin is a boy while she was born a girl ,from birth she already said to have been sent to check the world by her twin , but she is the first to come out but her twin is the oldest according to tradition ,she has always felt that being a girl came a lot to handle that from young while her twin is studying she was already in the kitchen washing plate , even her elder sister was already very much violent with her because her parents where already hard on her sister as the first daughter so she passed most of the agretion on her as the younger sister and second daughter,if she didn't get what her sister told her to do or make a mistake her elder sister already calls her useless and she would say why did God bring you to this life if you are not useful to me , and she was 6 years younger than her ,that means when she was a teenager,Gift was still 7 years and very much young,if that wasn't worse she was already looked at like a ugly and dumb person in school and having a twin that was opposite didn't make things easy for her ,she was never picked among beautiful or even a ok person but was picked among people that was ugly,so she already accepted her faith and didn't complain but told God to take her as she is from a Christian home which means she was aware that she couldn't kill her self ,she just enjoyed being alone and sleeping as that was when she could escape from reality, don't worry she wasn't all sad ,so I will start from a memory she can still remember ,she was five when her eldest brother as she is from a family of 9 with 2 parents and 7 children ,they where actually financial stable to be truthful when he traveled abroad to study which was fully sponsored by her father,so they all went there and that was the most fun times of her life that there was a time that they asked her what do you want to be when you grow up and then she said London , which was so funny that they had to explain to her that London was a country not a career path ,so where did everything start to go south for such a happy child with no worries that didn't know the difference between countries and career,so it was when she was about to be 8 years , during this period she changed school when she was in junior school ,she was in Grade 4 at that time , and her old school had a different way of doing things so it was time for them to do entrance exam and they both failed and re wrote a exam for at least Grade 3 if not they will be sent back to Grade 2 which means they had to go back 2 years, meaning repeating 2 years ,but the irony was that her twin brother passed but she didn't but her dad didn't want one to be in a higher class the other so they both started Grade 2 in this new school , because of this things happening Gift already started having self esteem issues as she felt dumb and ugly from a young age,so she doesn't come out of her class unless she needs to use toilet of go home because she didn't want anyone to know who she is ,so she continued like that till she finished high school ,it was as if ,if she didn't go out things will be fine because even with this people called her ugly , compared her with her twin till she graduated from high school ,their was even a memory that made her hate anything called friendship that the one person that she thought will support her and will not see her as dumb just gave her more reasons to hate herself,there was a time in grade 6 that there math teacher, even Gift her self knows she is not good with maths .so the math teacher asked them to solve a question that any one that gets it he will give them and this her best friend was getting privileged lesson from this same math teacher so she already knows the answer so when the math teacher stepped out to take something , everyone got together to ask her I also did ,she gave others and told me that he will know zot hurt my feelings so much,if that wasn't all there was a time while still in junior school ,it was break time and this same lady was gift only friend ,so she was about to follow her to where she was going and the girl saw her and look her in the face and ask why she is following her and that she shouldn't follow her , and it got bad to the point that Gift knelt down to her asking her forgiveness , and the girl told her that she is doing this because they won't be going to the same highschool. ,well Gift forgave her later in the future by going to her high school graduation to make peace with her in her heart because there is a saying " The person hurt has it in there responsiblity to heal from the pain caused by some else because a sorry can never fix the pain " Gift even had the worst menstrual period because she was a heavy bleeder and no matter how many pad she used she will still get stained ,she remembered a time it happened to her in middle school she asked someone for there sweater to cover the stain and the girl said I am feeling cold so I can't give you so she had to look for other people ,there was a time when she entered middle school ,when her only friend already left she only had her twin and his friends ,so she was trying to stay with him that was how one of her twins friend said why do you like following boys around don't you have friends and he laughed to her face as if it was funny ,so she was already feeling depressed in her first year in middle school ,so much that they started to compare her and her twin again because if her twin was top ten she will be top three to the last position in class and during that period classes was graded in A,B,C,D and her and her twin where in A and since she was so unhappy she remembered praying to God to take her where he was or help her ,so during that period her elder brother came back from Abroad where he has been for years ,he came without any one the house being aware then he asked us to hug which was a great shock be we are not a big hugger or are we the most loving family to our self during that period so we sha gave him a hug , and then he invited us to the church he was going to in Abroad in Nigeria ,so we went there and everything was different because the church we go to is in our area and they always fighting demons sha ni ,so this church had a calm atmosphere, everyone smiling hugging each other , which I felt happy,we got home my elder brother was like what do you all think me I said it's cool ,then he asked
