Bleu's POV
After eating, I helped Luna wash the dishes in the kitchen while Chad sat outside in the living room, watching a television show that he loved so much.
"Thanks for making us these sandwiches and drinks. They were really good, thank you!" I said, smiling at Luna while she was washing the dishes, leaning onto the kitchen counter.
"Aw, no worries Bleu! You know you don't need to help me with the dishes right? I can do it myself. You should go out and spend some time with Chad instead. He loves Star Wars so much and is addicted to them." Luna said, laughing at the last part of her sentence.
"He wouldn't stop talking about it after David introduced it to him." She added, putting the last washed plate away at the dish rack.
"Who's David?" I asked.
"Oh sorry! David is my best friend and also Chad's. We used to be super close until.." Luna paused mid-sentence, thinking whether if she should tell Bleu the truth right now.
"Until what? Oh, come on! You can trust me, you know that right?" I questioned, reaching out to hold her delicate hands, looking into her eyes.
"Until he upgraded.." Luna said, looking down onto the floor.
"What do you mean by ‘he upgraded’?" I asked, still holding onto her hands, staring into her beautiful eyes.
"You see, we have stages for our powers. Except we don't call them stages, we call them levels. You have to reach a certain level to meet the requirements and then you can be upgraded." Luna explained.
"Oh, so long story short, he upgraded because he reached a certain level?" I asked again, raising an eyebrow.
"Yea, that's right!" Luna said, still holding onto my hands.
"What do you have to do to reach a higher level?" I asked, pulling my hands away slowly.
"Well, it's just like games. You have to do some kind of quest or mission to be able to upgrade your player, " Luna explained. "In this case, we have to do really well in our class tests for Sign class. If we're among the top students of that test from the whole academy, we'll be invited to join a task that's assigned to us by the principal."
"What is this task that you're saying? Also, what kind of test?" I questioned, leaning against the countertop of the kitchen.
"I'm not sure what kind of task it is since it's confidential, but the test is about whether we'll be able to use our powers diligently when an opponent appears during the test."
"The tests for Sign class are different than the normal tests we've done before. We'll enter this large, circular room with only a huge clock at the top of the wall and are assigned with this cool spectacles before our teacher shuts the door and leaves the room." Luna explained, kind of running out of breath as she was too excited about telling me the details of the test.
"Wow, that's a lot to take in! Wait, what are the spectacles for? And why does Mrs. Higgins leave the room first instead of watching us?" I asked, feeling weird about all of this.
"I don't know what they are for and I'm also not sure where she goes," Luna answered.
"Everything seems eerie here. Do you feel it too?" I asked, standing right in front of Luna.
"Yea, I feel it too, but we shouldn't talk about this now because we have something else to talk about, remember?" She stated.
"Oh sorry, I totally forgot about that! Okay, let's get out of this kitchen before Chad gets too immersed into his favorite TV show."
Bleu's POV
Luna and I went out of the kitchen, walking towards Chad, who was watching his favorite television show in the living room. He did not see us, so I quickly cleared my throat and asked him a question.
"Earth to Chad? Can you hear us?" I calmly said, slightly waving my hands in front of his eyes.
No response. Guess I'll have to scream then.
"Earth to Chad!" I shouted. "Can you hear us?" I said, grabbing his shoulders to shake him vigorously.
"Woah there, chill dude!" Chad pushed me back, wiping the non-visible dust off his shoulders.
"Great, you're back!" Luna sarcastically exclaimed. "Now let's start that conversation shall we?"
Luna holds both mine and Chad's hands and brought us to the dining table. She sat down first and gestured to us to sit too.
Bleu's POV
Chad and I both sat down simultaneously. We looked at each other and then back at Luna.
"Okay, so now what?" I nervously spoke.
"Let's discuss... Do you remember us telling you that we should sneak out of the infirmary and avoid them not long ago?" Chad answered.
"Yea, of course, I do! I don't quite understand though... What do you mean by them?" I asked.
"What we meant by them is the teachers and probably the principal too. Every time if someone is admitted into the infirmary, they'll probably come back to school in about two or three days and would act like everything seemed normal." Luna explained.
"It's weird that they don't even know what happened the day or two days before and would come back 'new'," Chad added.
"Okay, so what are you guys suggesting?" I asked.
"We're suggesting that they did something to us before letting us leave the academy." Luna assumed, looking at me.
"Something like drugging us or worse, casting a spell on us while we were unconscious," Chad added.
"Well, we've got to investigate then! We need proof that this is all true and then we can report it to the principal!" I exclaimed.
"No, we can't! At least not to the principal.." Luna said, looking down.
"What? Why not?" I said, looking at Luna.
"We suspect that the principal might have something to do with all of this. He may or may not be associated with everything that's happening right now, behind our backs." Chad explained.
"If you guys knew all of this before I came into the academy then why didn't you just report him earlier? You know to the authorities." I asked.
"It's because we could not okay!" Luna blurted. "Oh s**t! I wasn't supposed to say that right?" Luna said, looking at Chad with worry deep in her eyes.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked, holding onto Luna's hand, making her look into my eyes.
"They found out that we had investigated and put us into probation. We had to report to this probation officer every single time last year and didn't have any freedom to hang out with whomever we want." Luna explained, looking down at the table.
"We were kind of quarantine in our own homes if you think about it," Chad stated. "But we were smart! We had a secret phone that no one knows about, even our close friends, and kept on contacting each other when we were bored or something bad had happened."
"Something bad as in like what?" I asked.
"They sent nurses and doctors regularly to 'check-up' on us and gave us regular medication so that we wouldn't be 'naughty' anymore," Luna uttered.
"Woah, that's against the rules! Do they have permission to do that?" I exclaimed.
"No, they don't," Chad said.
"Then this can be your proof! Do you have any evidence left here? We could use it as our first proof and probably find the others too." I excitedly said.
"We can't... They clean our houses every time they came by to check up on us and we were very much unconscious to the point that we couldn't even move our leg." Luna explained.
"There's something fishy about that. We have to investigate! But do you guys know where to start? I'll help you!" I stated, slightly standing up.
"Woah there buddy! First, we've got to train you then we can start our investigation." Chad said, walking towards me to pat my back.
"Train me? For what?" I asked.
"Train your powers of course! You do remember that everyone who attends Wayshire Academy has powers right?" Luna said, standing up as well.
"What are my powers then?" I asked.
"Oh, you'll find out soon! But let's do our homework first! They'll kill us if we don't do them." Chad chuckled, taking our backpacks from the table beside the door.
"Okay then.." I nervously said.
"Don't worry alright! Everything's going to be okay... Trust us!" Luna said, taking her backpack from Chad.
