That friend must have aided her but not soon enough because she was attacked while waiting and went into labor giving birth to a daughter. And though she survived the attack and the birth her body was severely weakened by the ordeal, and she died. No one knew what became of my daughter expect that she had lived because the friend had taken the child to raise and protect the best she could until she could find the child's father. My mate's name was Freya, and she was a powerful priestess with hair red as blood and eyes as blue as sapphires.” He paused so I had a chance to take in his words, but I knew that name and description by heart as I carried a very specific picture with me everywhere I go. “Mira, you are my daughter, and the proof of that is: your scent, the way you look, the way Duke reacted to you is also evidence, but the biggest is the birthmark I am sure you have that only my family line carry.” As he said this, he moved his right arm and began removing the bandage wrapped around his hand up to his elbow. As the bandage fell away it revealed an obsidian crescent moon that had a small silver star inside in the middle of the crescent moon right on his wrist. I blinked and while my mind didn’t seem to be processing everything my body moved of its own accord and lifting my right hand, I pulled the wrap that most people thought was a bracelet off my wrist to reveal the exact same mark. “You're my father?” I finally managed to ask out loud though it came out in a stutter the question was still clear enough to be heard. “Yes, I am. And I have been looking for you for the last twelve years and now I have found you, my little princess.” The Archduke said and for the first time in life I didn’t know what to feel.
However before I had time to process it, the door was slammed open, and a voice called out. “Is she awake yet?” A male voice called out. I watched as the curtain was yanked away and saw the boy from before that had put his hand on my shoulder before I passed out. I immediately wretched myself backwards on the bed trying to get away from the boy as fast as possible before the boy could hurt me. “What?” The boy asked as I trembled in fear against the headboard. “Um...” The boy said looking to the Archduke who just raised his eyebrow back at the boy. “Right, I guess you’re scared because of earlier.” The boy said sighing before kneeling on the edge of the bed. “I am so sorry for scaring you la mia sorellina but I was happy that Cassandra had finally crossed the line and that we could be rid of her once and for all I didn’t mean for you to think that any of that was directed towards you. Please forgive me for scaring you and please give me a chance la mia sorellina to be a good grande Fratello to you.” I was still trembling but now I was confused more than scared. “I don’t understand.” I said honestly. “Kai is my adopted son, I found him on the battlefield. He has known about you since I brought him home and has anxiously been waiting for you as well. So, Mira welcome home my beloved daughter.” The Archduke stated as he moved to sit beside me against the headboard and wrapped an arm around me pulling me to lay against him. “Mira?” Kai called out my name questioningly and I merely nodded though I did not know what I was nodding to. But Kai took my nod and moved to lay his head in my lap on the other side of me. Before I knew it, I was falling asleep in the warm comforting embrace of the two of them.
I awoke to find myself alone and a small thin veil of sunlight coming through the curtain of the canopy bed I was laying on. Slowly sitting up I looked around to see that not only was I alone in the bed, but the curtains had been pulled closed all around the bed. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and slipped out from under the covers. Reaching forward I pulled the curtain back just enough to slip through and had to blink as the brightness of the sunlight coming in through the balcony doors blinded me. “What?” I asked, confused as my eyes adjusted to the light. “Oh, good morning my dear.” I turned to see Fawn coming into the room followed by Hazel and Kehlani. “Um.” I blinked at them even more confused. “Come Princess.” I turned to see Minako coming out of the bathroom suite. Again, I just blinked not sure what was going on. “Mira come.” It was Fawn again but this time she was right beside me guiding me towards the bathroom. “Minako will help you strip while the rest of us will help prepare the bath and clothes for you and once you are in, we will explain everything okay my dear.” Fawn said as we stepped into the bathroom, and I merely nodded my head. Fawn passed me off to Minako with a smile and Minako helped me strip down before helping me into the bath.
Once I was in Fawn and Hazel returned and sat on the edges of the large bath. “We know you got quite a bit of information last night and that you are probably in shock so we...” Fawn said motioning to between her and Hazel. “Are here to help you but before you get lost in thought again, we want to tell you something. Kain has been looking for you for years his only comfort has been Kai so please do not be afraid of him give him a chance to be your father and give us all a chance to be your pack because that is what we are.” Fawn continued telling me a bunch of other things as I relaxed in the and Hazel began washing my hair. ‘Not even my aunt did this for me though she did also have two children to take care of as well.’ I thought to myself as I leaned back against the side of the bath. About an hour later I was out and dressed in simple pants and a shirt, and my hair was put into a simple braid down my back, and I was following Kehlani to get some food. I had learned from Fawn and Hazel that I had slept not just through the night but through the following day and into the next morning. Fawn said that Acheron had assured everyone that I was okay that I just needed to rest and heal up from everything I had been through and to give my mind a chance to accept the truth. ‘It also explained why I feel so hungry after waking up I may have missed meals, but I have never gone a full day without food.’ I thought as we reached the dining room. It was now lunch time, but Kehlani had explained that not everyone ate together at every meal just when there was a special occasion and that was usually a dinner meal. So, there won’t be a lot of pack members in there, so I won’t feel like I am on display. What I wasn’t expecting, and I can tell by Kehlani’s expression that she was not either because before we could walk through the door I was literally picked up and swung around.
