Nine: calm before the storm

Chapter Nine. Alpha Creeds point of view. I can't help but wonder if it would be a good idea for me to adopt the normal everyday systems that other formal packs have. For all the years that I have been in charge as the rogue alpha king I have run things the way that I want to and used systems that are sort best for me and my pack without considering what other packs and their alphas would think of my methods. As much as I don't care what the werewolf community thinks of how I run my pack it is high time that I involve myself into the politics of the supernaturals and start to consider taking my pack into the grand scheme of things. “Alpha, you called for me, how can I help you... I hope you are not about to ask me about the Jade girl again . With all due respect b I do not think that sending people to look for a mysterious girl that you met for one day , where else you are not even sure of her existence is the best use of my time as well as the time of all of our warriors , especially with everything that is going on. Again I mean it with all due respect they are just more important things for us to worry about. You need to get that B*mbo out of your mind…respectfully speaking ,” Felicia’s blunt and outright say it like it is attitude is probably why me and her get along so well whilst also clashing heads ever so often. I just took in a very deep breath and tried to not be offended by her obviously disrespectful comments . My pride was not too fragile but my wolf's sure was so I will just push that down some more. At this point I am used to her saying the most rude and disrespectful things before calmly dressing them up with a “respectfully speaking” or with an “with all due respect Alpha ," bearing the disrespect mind and our friendship I decided to just move past that and focus on the reasons why I had called her to my office “Trust me …I am very sure that you are saying all of that with all due respect and no sarcasm at all Beta Felicia,” I voiced out as I rolled my eyes at her usual antics. "Please take a seat I would like us to discuss the few things that have been on my mind lately ," She made it a point to laugh at my sarcastic but professional demeanor. For some reason Felicia did not take me seriously at all , probably has something to do with us growing up together and all the times that I would play Alpha and use a serious voice to boss her around. I couldn’t help the light smile that lightened my face as I remembered all the lighthearted fun and pranks that we lived through in our childhood... Oh how things were much simpler back then. "I would like us to discuss the current state of the pact with you as my friend, someone I trust, and my beta. We have gained the reputation of being the rouge pack which has put us in a very bad standings with the alphas from other packs,” I decided to pause for a little and look over at her to make sure that she was still onboard and checked in to this conversation. Along the years I have learnt that Felicia out of a lot of conversations and situations at random times... If I am being honest I too have been known to space out on an occasional basis so I do not get offended by her being spaced out. After making sure that she was still listening to me I carried on with my directives. The conversation lasted surprisingly longer than I had anticipated as we both started to mentally collaborate our ideas ,ideals and expectations in terms of the future of our pack. Since I took over as alpha… With me being the rogue alpha I have made a lot of enemies to say the least. The circumstances surrounding my birth and how I grew up has resulted in my pack being shunned and labeled with a lot of negative words. A lot of my pack members have not found their mates because of how isolated my pack is from others so it is hard for my pack members to meet other werewolves and go into other packs. The discussion lasted for more than scheduled so we came to the conclusion that it is best for us to plan a meeting whereby we can further discuss this with other members. I do not trust a lot of people which is why I haven't been able to form my own command line just like most other packs thus making my pack informal. All formal packs have a system to which they run where they are people in charge under the Alpha. The first things I aimed to sort out in my pack is to get a group of people that I can charge and put in the command line where they can have meetings and discussions with me in order to sort out or sick the betterment of our pack. In the discussion I could hear words floating in the air as they slowly started to clean out and sound like a breath of fresh air before they slowly became nothing. My thoughts suddenly riveted back into the sassy, sexy and tempting brunette that I had seen not so long ago. The thought of her beautiful jade green eyes just drawing me in sent shivers down my spine. Her name suits her well... Jade just like her eyes. For a moment I could not help but remember how her skin felt on my fingertips and how it helped capture mine whilst feeling oh so tender upon my own. The riveting ,soothing sound of her voice gently rang in my eardrums as her words repeatedly played over and over in my head. Something about her just called out to me and for some reason just called my wolf. I Have not been able to get her out of my mind for weeks now and for some reason the trackers , enforcers and Warriors that I have sent to look for her have not been able to find her as of yet which is infuriating and frustrating to say the least. *Snap ,snap ,snap* The sound immediately caught my attention and brought me out of the thoughts that had certainly captured my mind as well as my attention. Felicia continued to snap her fingers at me as I dryly rolled my eyes at her. “knock… Knock… knock ... Is there anyone actually in there? Mister alpha sir…are you still there? Hello,” The teasing in her voice was just irritating as I playfully rolled my eyes at her . “ You are honestly just as annoying as my sister ,please behave yourself and conduct yourself like the adults that you are. I was busy thinking about a very important pack business love you have disturbed my train of thought,” I blatantly lied and for some reason I could tell that she knew I was. I have dosed off into my thoughts a lot lately with one thing running circles in my mind…Jade. Unfortunately for me Felicia knew I was still hung up on her and could tell that I was lying. “I do not know how up-to-date you are with the gossip in the pack and what our upcoming Barbie Luna has been planning. Your wedding is only a few days away Alpha...I really hope you're not still thinking about the dancer you met for only but one night. It would have been another thing if she was you mate but you , yourself have stated that you are sure she was not sure and is not your mate so for your own sake just forget about her,” Felicia’s words made complete sense and I knew she was speaking with my best interest in mind but for some reason I just did not want to hear any of it nor come to terms with the simple truth of the matter. “I know that you are speaking from a good place but I would really prefer it if we just don't get into this whole thing. Let us just not discuss her. You will not understand my predicament and honestly I have no will to convince you of why she is still in my mind. There is something about her that just calls out to me and I feel the need to explore that. Yes I know she is not my mate… we both know the moon goddess would not dare give me a mate. Taking your words into consideration as well as proceeding not to discuss her any further I will focus on my upcoming mating ceremony... Stop calling it a wedding ,it is not a human thing,” I could feel the judging and unconvinced glare that she was throwing my way but I did not even bother acknowledging it as I continued on voicing my opinion on the matter. “It is just a mating ceremony to get the pack familiarized with their new Alpha and Luna. She knows very well that I do not love her and I did not really propose marriage to her. I proposed a partnership. I wanted a Luna and she was it…that is all there is to it. I cannot help it if the poor girl is delusional and going overboard with the whole thing. I don't even know the whole of what is going on I just know to show up , complete the mating ceremony and make sure that the whole thing is over and done with as soon as possible because she is giving me a headache with all of the none stop planning,” We both lightly laughed at all of the craziness that had been going on in the palace. Gwen was obsessing over the whole thing and driving Felicia and I insane. I made the mistake of telling her to discuss everything with Felicia in order to get Gwen off my case which was a wrong move because Felicia is more short tempered than I am…she practically almost jumped Gwen in a fit of rage. “Speak of the devil and she shall rise from the underworld,” I was about to ask Felicia what she was talking about when I smelt Gwen’s overly sweet strawberry scent coming our way. She was probably on her way to my office to try to discuss centerpieces and silk . Our eyes went up , right and down in a semi circle as both Felicia and I rolled our eyes in unison when Gwen gleefully entered my office with a big smile on her face just as expected. “Ohhh…Hi beta Felicia. I was waiting for the two of you to finish but you were taking so long I could not wait any more. Anyway I brought lunch ,” our eyes immediately panned in on the tray of food on her hands as she carefully set it down on my office desk . She awkwardly made her way to me and was about to hug me or something before she cleared her throat and looked down at the ground as the result of the questioning look on my face. “Well…looks like you two love birds need some time to yourselves,” I could not help but notice the obvious undertones of sarcasm on the love birds but I ignored it . “I will be on my way now. I need to get back to the training grounds. The Warriors might be slacking since I am not there. I will also make sure to organize the pack meeting as soon as possible,” I nodded my head at Felicia as my back hit the back of my chair. I looked at the sealing for a second and exhaled . Felicia’s hand was still on the door handle just about to close the door and give us some privacy when we heard it. The sound of it alone caught me off guard . I have not heard it in so long I had almost forgotten how it sounded. The warning bells were ringing followed by the frenzied voices that filled up the pack mind link. “Alpha, they are wolves trespassing on our pack lands…we are under attack!”
