Gone with the wind

Adelaide POV: I was asleep when I heard the approaching foot steps. Was it my father back again to traumatize me with his torturous gropings and kissing. I did not want to open my eyes because I was hopeful that if he saw me asleep, he might leave me alone. I heard the gate unlock and someone suck in their breath. My vomit must have reeked. Hopefully that would keep him away if my sleep did not. "Little wolf," came his gentle voice, and I opened my eyes, relieved and embarrassed to see him. "What are you doing here, Luke?" I asked, the relief slipping into worry, "if they catch you-" He broke my chain before I could finish my sentence. "No time for your words od admiration," he quipped, and I rolled my eyes, unable to suppress my smile. "Let's go," He said, taking my hand and leading me out, "how did you get here?" I asked, "I'll answer all your questions when we are safe, for now lets focus on getting out alive." I nodded in agreement, "not this way," I said, "there is a secret passage, but it leads to a river, considering you broke these chains with ease, you'll be able to bend the bars enough for us to fit through the grate. It will be safer than going out back the same way." He nodded and let me lead the way. I took him down the dark wet stone passage, leading him deeper and deeper into the dark. "It might be hard to see, but-" He interrupted me, "I can see, night vision." I nodded, assuming he would have seen that. We made it to the grate safely, and just as I had hoped, Luke managed to bend the bars of the iron grate enough for us to push through. It hadn't rained for a while, so I knew that the water would be more like muddy sludge. We stomped out into the sludge, our feet sticking into the ground and making wet squelching noises as we moved. Once we were out on the banks, my hair and clothes were covered in wet, semi-dry mud. "You're going to like this part," he said, "What part?" I asked, "the part where I shift into my wolf and rip through my clothes," I rolled my eyes, "I don't know how to shift, so I will be following on foot." He shook his head, "no you won't," he grabbed me and through me over his back, my hands knotted around his neck as he shifted in a blink of an eye. And just like that, we were gone with the wind. My anxiety had disappeared, and I was feeling relieved once more and cool as the cold wind kissed my muddy skin. I relaxed into his soft fur, which smelled sweet and heavenly. I closed my eyes for a moment and without realizing it, I had fallen asleep. I awoke to him carrying me in his arms, his hot skin pressed against my cold skin. Goosebumps were jumping around and the hair on my arms were standing up. I cleared my throat, and he looked down at me with a cocky grin on his face, "So, she's alive," he mused, "and able to walk, thank you," I said, kicking off onto my feet. He chuckled. "Where are we?" I asked, looking around at the cozy furniture in this cabin we were in, "this is my place, on the outskirts of my father's territory." I glanced at him, there was something in his voice when he said that, what was it? Emotion? I couldn't tell, "it's nice," I said in a soft voice. We stood in silence for a minute, "you said you would explain when we were safe," I said, reminding him, "I did," he said as he stretched his arms, knotting them behind his neck. He was trying to seduce me! I wasn't going to let it work. I looked away, focusing on the abstract painting of a woman's face. "Nice painting," I said, "it is quite nice." I couldn't look at him, my cheeks were turning red, and I just couldn't. "Do you have a bathroom?" I asked abruptly and urgently, he c****d an eyebrow at me, "nope, we wolves just use the woods and the rivers." Then he shook his head at me, "of course we do, we are also human you know," and I nodded my head slowly. "It's upstairs," he said, "would you like me to show you?" He asked, "no thanks, I am capable of finding it on my own Beast!" He smirked at me and gestured towards the stairs. I tried to stride with confidence towards it, but when I reached the bathroom, I looked in the mirror. The tiny shred of dignity that I had, completely disintegrated right before me. My hair was matted with black mud, my skin and fingernails were dirty, there was dry vomit on my clothes. To say that I looked like a mess was a total understatement. I turned on the hot water and peeled my disgusting clothes off.
