We're not safe

Roger and Ava walk away from Jessica and Jason without saying a word. Roger is out of breath, he looks at Ava, she has a terrified look on her face as she clings on to Roger. "What is happening Ava, why do I feel this way, my heart is racing and I can't get rid of this anxious feeling?" Ava starts crying as she speaks "It's a hunter, he's going to kill all of us!" Roger looks at Ava with a confused look on his face, he grabs hold of her hands and rubs them to calm her down. "I can't go home, if he follows me, I could put the whole community in danger, there hasn't been a hunter in town for many years." "Don't worry, we can leave now and go to my place for a while and you can go home when we are sure that it's safe." Roger and Ava leave the fair and make their way to Roger's apartment.

The drive to Roger's apartment is very quiet, Ava looks over her shoulder every minute to make sure that they are not being followed. They arrive at Rogers's apartment there is some sense of relief that comes over Ava but she is still a little anxious and is still looking all around her. Roger gets Ava to sit down on the couch in the living room. "What did you mean earlier that he is a hunter?" "That guy that was with your friend has a chain around his neck that glows whenever he gets close to our kind, it also brings this feeling of dread and anxiousness over us. " The tears are running down Ava's cheeks, Roger doesn't really know what to do, he pulls her in for a hug. "How does your friend know that guy, do you think she knows that he's a hunter?" "I don't think so, she knows that I'm a werewolf, she would've warned me. I've been a werewolf for 50 years already, and I've never come across a hunter." " There aren't a lot of them, they are usually families with a strong belief that we don't deserve to live, as long as he is in town then we're not safe."

Jessica and Jason are still at the fair, Jessica is totally oblivious to what happened but Jason knows that one or both of them is unnatural. "What happened there? They just took off without even saying anything, did you know that girl was giving you a strange look. Was she an ex-girlfriend?" "No, I don't know her, but you know the guy, Roger right, was he an ex?" "Yes, it's kind of complicated, we dated for a few months." "Does he live in the city?" " He moved here for work, just when we started dating it looks like he has moved on as well." Jessica doesn't really know what to feel, she didn't expect to see Roger happy with someone else so soon. The sight of him laughing and smiling with someone else's stirred up emotions in her that she had buried deep inside. Jason is trying to end the evening early, he is determined to hunt down the two unnatural beings and kill them. "I'm not feeling too well, you think we can call it a night?" "But we just got here and I haven't seen you all day, are you sure?" "Yeah, I think I caught some kind of bug." "I was really hoping we could have some fun here tonight, Jason." Jessica has a disappointed look on her face, Jason thinks to himself, "I don't know where those two went anyway, Jessica might have more information about her ex I could use." Jason smiles "Ok, I think I can make it a while longer." Jessica lets out a little squeak of joy and hugs Jason." They make their way into the fairgrounds and Jessica points to one of the rides "Let's go on that ride!"

Ava and Roger are sitting on the couch and watching a movie, suddenly there is a loud bang from outside. Roger jumps up from the couch and runs over to the window. It's just a car exhaust backfiring. Ava's nerves are frazzled, she is overcome with fear and can barely hold herself together. Jason runs over to her and holds her close. "It's ok, it's just a car, there is no one outside, you're safe here, I'll protect you." " The elders of our home would tell us stories of how they had to run from hunters, they said the hunters would never give up and considered it an honor to kill a fae. They thought we were the most dangerous creatures because we could hide better than other creatures, who eventually had to transform and reveal themselves. I have never had to think about hiding from a hunter, this is all new to me." "This is new to me too, I need to speak to Jessica, she can convince him that we are not dangerous." " don't you understand, it's not about how dangerous we are to them, they don't consider us human, we are less than human to them, my family members were burned alive by them, men, women, children, it didn't matter to them!"

Jason and Jessica are enjoying themselves at the fair, Jason is attempting to win Jessica a stuffed animal at one of the sharpshooter games. He fires his first shot at the target and hits it dead on. "So how did you and your ex meet?" " He was head of marketing at a company that was a client at the marketing firm where I work. Why are you so interested in my ex, are you jealous of him.?" Jessica asks him jokingly, Jason laughs out loud. "No I'm just interested, he looks like an interesting guy, are the two of you still friends?" " We lost touch, but there is still a connection there." "Great maybe, we can double date sometime, you should give him a call."
