Charlie had to get Marcus to stand back and hold his breath whilst she concentrated on her senses. The Beta-to-be happily complied and gave her some space. They had made it to the scent trail, soon after leaving her clearing, which quickly faded to a point Marcus couldn’t track, but with her heightened sense of smell, she had quickly found the direction it ran. It was roughly an hour later that the scent became strong enough for Marcus to detect again and a further 30 minutes until there were tell-tale signs that a camp was up ahead.
