First day
Welcome to Greenlands high school, home of the Vikings. I'm River Williams, quarterback and captain of the all star foot ball team. Treated like a god among the entire town just because I can throw a ball. Sometimes I wish people would take the time to look past everything and see me for well, me. I know that's so first world problems and blah blah blah. But I just want someone who wants me for me and not because the think they can ride my coattails to college ball and then the NFL. The last game though, we were decimated.
My head was in a weird place after seeing her on campus. Didn’t talk to her—oh no, can’t do that—but I saw her in the student center. She was…sad? f**k if I know. Her head was down as she read a book, not laughing with her friends as they sat in one of the lounge areas. Inexplicably, she looked up (maybe feeling the intensity of my stare), saw me, then her gaze moved on, not pausing. That I can handle. It’s the usual. We’ve done it for a year. But her not smiling? WTF. Girl has the world. Smart. Beautiful. Everyone loves her, including me.
Olivia Burkheart. The women who plagues my every waking thought, lavender hair with her striking green eyes. God and those le- no no no. Snap out of it River, leave her alone. She's the smart shy girl who doesn't need me f*****g her life up, Because I'm sure that's what'd I'd do. I may be obsessed with her but at least I can hide it, I'll never be good enough for her. The stupid tattooed quarterback with rocks for brains, at least that's what everyone else thinks.
